3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dickinsonbeer (5076) - Hoboken, USA - MAR 1, 2009
375ml bottle at EBF. Multiple samples. Pours a clear thinnish light red- almost violet/pink with no head- slight prickly carbonation. Aroma is nice light tart cherries- almost reminds me of my beach plum beers with its unique sour character - almost herbal and grassy in the cherry character- light almond and cherry pit- ok sour tartness. Ok slightly chemical cherry thing going on- a touch of almond and cyanide- reminds me again of the beach plums, and also some hints of cherry juice and a touch of oregon cherry puree- good sour funk- has a slight brett and pedio character and almost a slight chemical slick touch that I get in fools Gold. Finish is a nice prickly tartness and a moderate cherry pit astringency which was pretty nice. Not great, but maybe with time this will be another winner like the Rosso.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 jredmond (2820) - Manhattan, New York, USA - MAY 6, 2012
Bottle shared at WtWBA in Brooklyn 2012. Pours a deep, hazy reddish amber body. Aroma is straight 3 year old gouda cheese. Funky, funky cheese dominates both the aroma and the palate. Mouthfeel is medium and lightly syrupy with notes of funked cheese. Not much else. Glad I got to try this, but seemed to be a bit passed its prime.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 cakanator (447) - South Hadley, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 13, 2011
12oz bottle. I had so much expectation from this one, but alas nothing in the end. Pours out a nice brighter red hue, looks great, nice lacing. Aromas are decent some funk and cherries, tartness, but not alot, some basement off putting what it really should be. Palate is thin, with no finish and a ton of acidic bad cherry. The only reason this gets a higher rating than a 3 is I’ve had the Lixir version from NOTB 09, and it was fantastic. Wish it had been that way in the bottle.

(375ml bottle thanks to Exiled) milkshake cream/orange pour with very little head. Nose is oxidized big time, cardboard, a bit tart, mildly acetic smelling. Taste is very oxidized, nice sourness, cherry pit, moss, good flavor, but it lost a bit of carbonation along its travels I believe.
