Honey and crystal malt aromas. Golden-orange color with strong head. "Saisony" with a honey, nuttiness. A bit of citrus flavor in the finish too.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Cletus (6064) - Connecticut, USA - NOV 1, 2009
Growler. Pours a hazy amber with a lasting, white head. Smells of sweet malt, some honey hints. Tastes earthy and funky with some peachy hints on the finish.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 blipp (3920) - Newark, New Jersey, USA - SEP 15, 2009
Cask. Golden orange with a thin head. Light aroma, belgian yeasty/spicy character with some faint tart fruity notes. The flavor has tart fruit (kind of like rhubarb), with herbal, spicy, and flowery notes. Not bad, but kind of dissapointing.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 koopa (335) - , New Jersey, USA - MAY 25, 2010
Growler purchased at the brewery on the day they released SFTO Apple Brandy Barrel.
Appearance: Darker iced tea brown with red highlights and honey corners. A small 1 finger white crown that shows little retention or lace.
Smell: Pale malt, sugar, and loads of honey!
Taste: Biscuit malt up front followed by a quick wave of honey mixed with a touch of lightly spicy hops and finished by a nice honey finish. A slight tea flavor is present as well.
Mouthfeel: A touch heavier than medium bodied with a small amount of syrup likeness. Surprisingly crisp though!
Drinkability: A bit too sugary (in a nice honey way) for mass consumption. I’m splitting the growler with 2 other people. However the crispness really helps.
This beer isn’t very reminiscent of other BPA’s. I didn’t review it "for the style" but rather by how I liked it, which is not my normal approach.
Serving type: growler

Location: Draft at Rattle ’N’ Hum, 9/13/09
Aroma: Yeast, sour fruit, lemon, bread
Appearance: Cloudy amber color with a small head
Flavor: Sour fruit and some yeast backing, a little better then the nose
Palate: Light-medium body, smooth, little light on mouthfeel
Overall Impression:
The official beer of NY Beer Week 2009 is a decent, but unspectacular beer. I have a feeling the ratings for this one will be all over the map, as it is a bit odd, but its not a bad beer at all. I like the effort, and while I wouldn’t call it a standout it certainly wasn’t a awful.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BREWMUSKCLES (1686) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 29, 2009
vegetable and watermelon flavors but i think this kinda works. sweet and slick mellow and deep of amber color it is a must try to experience a difference to the jaded palate. there is a hop finish that pops up some moments after you drink it. a poindexter of a brew with its spoiled rye dough character.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 PilsnerPeter (2959) - Flushing, New York, USA - SEP 16, 2009
Tap at Rattle ’N’ Hum: Hazy deep orange copper with a fading off white head. Lots of dry Belgian phenolics in the aroma- slightly sulfuric with a grainy Belgian amber malt presence. The body is fluffy and crisp. Dry flavor- all the honey has fermented out nicely. Some grainy Belgian amber malts precede a nondescript fruitiness. Has a dry chalky phenol presence as well. Quite simplistic and one dimensional, but no major flaws.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - DEC 9, 2009
Draught at Ginger Man, NYC Cloudy light amber color; creamy head. Dusty, dirty water aroma, cooking herbs. Weak body, light flavor; simple Ale, the flavor reminds me of... sushi (or to better say, the flavor of the sushi rice with the rice vinegar). Low bitterness. Very strange.
