Sampled on cask at the SFTO Brandy Barrel release. Amber in body with a bubbly off white head. Aroma of spices, vanilla, light pumpkin. Taste is vanilla, pumpkin, nutmeg, body is creamy. very nicely balanced, no spice is too overpowering. Enjoyed this one.

cask at sfto apple brandy release. color is a dark orange amber with a thin white head. aroma has fresh pumpkin, light spices, dark sugar, and a bit of nuts. mouth feel is medium and the carbonation on the low side. flavor has a nice authentic pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, sweetness, and some back ground hops. I like the fact the pumpkin takes a front over the spiced side and the vanilla bean version took this to a whole new level. fuller body from the cask, and a nice hefty vanilla snap that really brought all the flavors together.

Cask. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Thin with a pumpkin body and a smooth vanilla cream like flavor. Cinnamon sugar and a bit of all spice. The vanilla was good addition it gave the beer more body and flavor. Nice ale.

This review is for the cask-conditioned Pumpkin Ale with Vanilla added available at the brewery during the SFTO Apple Brandy Barrel. Pours a dark golden amber/orange with golden burnt orange hues when held to a light source with a thick frothy white head that has excellent retention, lasting throughout the whole glass and leaving sporadic splotchy of soapy lacing behind. Nice autumnal aroma of pumpkin, brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. This has much more of a sweet pumpkin pie dessert like aroma than the regular Pumpkin Ale. Also, the added vanilla is prominent balancing out the spice notes. Silky medium body with a perfect amount of malt backbone which I think is somewhat lacking in the regular version. Once again the flavor is dominated by pumpkin, cinnamon brown sugar, nutmeg and vanilla. All of the strong pumpkin pie like flavors are very well balanced by the sweet vanilla presence making this beer extremely quaffable. One of the best pumpkin beers I’ve had.
