COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with pureed pumpkins added directly to the mash, and pumpkin pie spices added at the end of the boil, this beer packs a ton of flavor into a malty and smooth amber colored ale. Perfect for when the weather starts to change and ugly sweaters come out of storage.

12 oz bottle from Jason. Nothing special. Aroma and taste on the weak side. Much better pumpkin beers on the market compared to this one.

Draft. Hazy amber brown color, small off white head. Aroma is subtle mixed spice and gourd. Taste is malt forward, spice in the background, and a bit of fruit. Not bad.

Six pack from Manchester CT. Pours out a clear light amber with frothy light tan head. Aroma of roasty malts and pumpkin. Spice is kept well in check and this one is very smooth and drinkable with a lingering roasty-spice finish.

Drought. Slightly hazy amber-orange color with small foamy off-white head, nondescript aroma, fizzy, pumpkin flavor, abrupt finish. Nice but not super seasonal ale.

Poured a hazy amber orange with a thin head of loose tan foam. There was a burst of bubbles after the pour then a steady stream of effervescence. Nose is lightly sweet malt and a light spice. Nutmeg, allspice and a little ginger. Some sweet biscuit. I am not getting a lot of pumpkin but it’s faint int he background. Taste is dry biscuit with a nice toasted malt sweetness. Light spice. The carbonation is very strong and the body of the beer is thin so it drinks a little watery and a lot like soda. There’s a touch of pumpkin flavor that becomes stronger as it warms and a mild bitter finish that is dry and tasty.

The nose on this one is very pleasing but the drink is too thin. It was just ok.

12 oz bottle courtesy of a BlackIPA Box. Thanks, Shawn. I love getting all the Captain Lawrence ticks. Pours a deeper dark amber hue, decent haziness and a darker brownish amber hue throughout, fall and autumn hues, gentle darker orange amber glow in the body spreads out to the edges and bottom. Frothy whitish head atop stays as a mellow filmy layer, laces as a smaller loose ring, decent lacing as it goes. Aromas show pumpkin, squash, and some decent spiciness, cinnamon and nutmeg meet some gentle sweeter biscuity malts, touch of caramel and toffee, carmelized and toasty feel. More pumpkin, a bit carmelized, sweet, but not overbearing here. Initial is lighter end of the fold in body, pumpkin, cooked and raw are a bit tart, some simple sweetness. Lighter body than anticipated. A bit of sweetness, spicy cinnamon and nutmeg hit as a decent layer into the middle. Some vanilla, caramel and subtle more gentle sweetness into the back of the middle and backend give more of the expected and enjoyed Pumpkin beer experience. A bit spicy, toasty, firm actual pumpkin presence doesn’t really emphasize the spiciness or sweeter, sticky malt elements usually typical of the style. Backend and finish throw some bigger pumpkin juice elements, not sweet and cloying, almost a bit tart or dry at times. Finish is a bit spicy, lingering nutmeg, gentle pie spice, not really sweet, perhaps some bread and gentle carmelized sugars playing us out. Not bad, a bit odd, not as expected.
