Brewed with pureed pumpkins added directly to the mash, and pumpkin pie spices added at the end of the boil, this beer packs a ton of flavor into a malty and smooth amber colored ale. Perfect for when the weather starts to change and ugly sweaters come out of storage.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a tulip glass at the Iron Abbey in Willow Grove, PA. This beer’s appearance is a clear amber with a small white head. The aroma is full of spice and pumpkin with malt tossed in. The flavor matches the aroma and I find it to be a really good pumpkin ale.

Freshly tapped at CLBC. Good nose. Poured the typical clear amber. Excellent taste through the middle full of pumpkin without being full of the usual pie spices. Nicely done.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Super fresh seeing as its only mid-August. A - Typical dark yet clear brown body. Two finger high off white head settles down to a patchy cap. Almost no lacing or retention to speak of. S - Roasted pumpkin, light bready malts, a touch of english style hops, smooth spices on the finish with just a hint of brown sugar sweetness. T - Amazingly this has pumpkin flavor to it. Roasted pumpkins with a slight vegetal quality to it, light spices, and a great balance of bready caramel malts and ever so bitter english hops. A great deal of flavor, but it disappears quickly. Mouth feel is medium to light with a crisp carbonation. O - This beer does seem to do things a bit differently than most pumpkin ales. Like other reviewers have noted, this is basically a session ale. A great REAL pumpkin flavor that is never too spicy or sweet. Perfect beer for the transition from summer into fall.

growler that I was so glad to get after missing this one last year. color is a dark orange amber with a thin white head. aroma has fresh pumpkin, light spices, dark sugar, and a bit of nuts. mouth feel is medium and the carbonation on the low side. flavor has a nice authentic pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, sweetness, and some back ground hops. I like the fact the pumpkin takes a front over the spiced side and the vanilla bean version took this to a whole new level.

From a growler given to me by a co-worker who recently visited his hometown in NY. Pours an attractive, clear deep amber with a manilla head. Pleasant medium-intensity aroma of nutmeg and a little cinnamon. Very drinkable but with a full/bold flavor. Nice toasty caramel malt base with just the right level of sweetness. Next are notes of pumpkin pie; cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and a tinge of vanilla. Has a small presence of herbal noble hops for balance. Medium bodied with a smooth texture and moderate carbonation. Remarkably drinkable. It’s nothing you haven’t had before but it’s so well-done and tasty.

Bottle in NYC, courtesy of jtclockwork. Pours clear, deep gold with a small, foamy head. Pleasant sweet pumpkin aroma, hints of cinnamon. Medium sweet flavor, toasty bread, lots of autumnal spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, good pumpkin character. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, further nutmeg, plenty of juicy pumpkin, some brown sugar, toasted malts. A classic pumpkin beer.

Growler fill at Whole Foods Bowery. Pours a medium to dark orange. Notes of nutmeg, clove and allspice are predominant. At first i didn’t fully acknowledge all that this pumpkin ale had to offer, but after i let the growler sit after a few days the carbonation disipated and the aromas and flavors have become more predominant.
