Hazy orange, with a thin white head. Aroma is rich citrus oils, and some sweet candy notes. Taste is the same, with some pithy bitterness and drying alcohol on the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle from Superstar Beverage in Huntington pours a very murky orange with plenty of frothy, white head. I love to say this, but if this was a Tired Hands beer, people would LOVE the look. Nose is huge with pine and pine resin, very very resinous, soapy and herby, grapefruit rind, grassy. Flavor is very bitter, honestly a big bright fresh orange kick, pine and pine sol, grass and straw. Finishes hugely bitter. Palate wrecking bitterness. Glad I ended my night with this.

Pours a slightly cloudy, bright golden orange color with a one finger, frothy white head that very slowly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Very good retention with large streaks of soapy lacing left behind. Visible carbonation bubbling up. Earthy hop aroma with grassy pine notes and dank, resinous oils countered by light tropical/citrus fruits and a pale malt backbone. Hints of fresh cut grass, pine needle, fresh buds and spruce tip countered by sweet grapefruit and pineapple. There’s a little bit of orange and lemon peel in there as well but the fruit presence isn’t overbearing. The malt backbone really comes through in the aroma but doesn’t hinder the juicy hop presence giving off notes of bread, biscuit and cracker for balance. Nothing really stands out in the nose but the aroma is inviting. On the fuller end of medium body with a blast of dry, sticky bitterness that lingers over the sweeter notes, pale malt and strong alcohol flavor into a dry finish. The hop profile lacks the balance found in the aroma with almost overwhelming bitterness and oily resins. Very dry and sticky with lots of earthy soil, grass and pine needle flavor. Very subtle tropical/citrus fruit with faint hints of orange peel, grapefruit and pineapple. Still, there is plenty of sweetness provided from the overwhelmingly harsh, boozy finish. Tons of alcohol heat and ethanol flavor killing off most of the interesting hop characteristics. It doesn’t really burn going down but the finish is all boozy sweetness, almost completely overshadowing everything interesting that came before it. Not a bad beer but it’s severely lacking in balance. Even without the strong alcohol presence in the finish, the sweeter fruit notes are overpowered by the strong bitterness and earthy resins. A rare miss from one of my favorite breweries.

Growler from one stop. Clear dark gold lots of billowing white head leaves thick lace. Pineapple and tangerine nose is fresh and exquisite. Lush thick mouthfeel with caramel and tangerine up front and tangerine lingering. Outstanding.

FROTHINGSLOSH (5961) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 11, 2015
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a vibrant golden color with a large creamy orange-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was bitter, sour caramel, pineapple and a bit of tropical fruit. The flavor was sour caramel, tropical fruit, pineapple and perfume. Very long finish. Moderately full bodied. Quite nice.

From a 12 oz into a pint glass. Pours a very golden color with thick head. Dank aroma. Mouthfeel is thick but not sticky. Taste is just bitter. Slight grapefruit but that’s about it. eh, not great.

Got in a BIF from beerloserLI. 12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, honey, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity and balance of big citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of big tangerine, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, honey, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good sized pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, honey, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of big citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate malt sweetness; with a nice bitterness/sweetness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very resinous/sticky and moderately slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is fairly well hidden with only a light-moderate warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Triple IPA style. All around great robustness, complexity, and balance of big citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate malt sweetness; and smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Pours a hazed golden amber orange with a large white head. Bold hops on the nose, melon and citrus, with a thick malty backbone. Medium bodied, malty and sweet, big warm alcohol and spicy hops. Warming alcohol on the finish, long spicy grapefruit. Very big, very malty.

glennmastrange (2526) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - MAY 24, 2015
Bottle. Moderate roasted and caramel for the malt, heavy pine and grapefruit peel for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with dried light fruits and a hint of sulfur in the background. Head is small, frothy, white with good lacing and good legs, and is mostly diminishing. Color is slightly hazy amber. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately sweet and heavily bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, oily, with a fizzy carbonation and a moderately alcoholic and lightly astringent finish. Definitely more powerful than an average DIPA, and full of all things hoppy.

Rich golden color with nice white head. Aroma is there but not overbearing. Hop flavor pushes through and well outshines the bitterness, which I like. Medium body with good drinkability to it for a big DIPA. Not my favorite of the night but definitely not the worst. I would order again.
