As the sun starts to peek out from around the dark winter clouds it is a clear reminder that brighter days lie ahead. Brewed with pale & wheat malts for a refreshing backbone & hopped with some bright citrusy American hops this beer will help you fight off the sun all season long.

DATE: June 19, 2016... At my second Father’s Day at the Draught House--forty beers on tap and a free dinner! Can’t beat that... drinking from a Miller Lite pint... starts with a frothy, crater-like off-white head that settles to a thin film... clear, golden body--but does NOT look filtered... faint pepper and banana, with some malty biscuit... strong rye suggestions, with aromatic flowery aromas providing some .. the flavor is pepper and biscuit, with lemony hops and Saaz-like pilsener, both of which are softened by the wheat... medium-bodied, with a refreshing, lighthearted passage to the throat, but no staying power here... pairing well with the bourbon pepper steak I ordered, though a bit light for the task... as a kickstarter for my Father’s Day, a winner... a beer that could be sessioned, but not as bright as promised...

Bottled on 04212016. Clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma has hints of Sorachi Ace hops. Flavor has a fair amount of hop flavor left and ends bitter. Well balanced but lacks the fresh hop flavor.

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2016 Draft at Bru Craft. Poured a very hazy bright yellow gold with just a touch of white foam that reduced to a tiny ring. No lace. The nondescript hops effortlessly dissappear into the full blonde pale malts. Gently sweet tropical fruit flavors. Pineapple. Papaya. Orange passionfruit. Clementine. Guava. Coconut milk. Plantain. Honeycomb. Stray hints of summer tomato vines and dill. Something nice to sip by the seaside.

The label says- IPA . And it feels more like an IPA than a wheat ale. Hazy , golden color. Medium-sized , white head. Hoppy , citrus notes dominate in aroma . Hops and some acidity in taste . Decent beer.

Six pack from Julio’s. Bottle says "Sun Block IPA". Website says this is a new and improved recipe. Pours out a slightly hazy light golden color. Lacy off white head. Dry earthy hop bitterness. Very little citrus. Somewhat muddled hop profile. Sticky finish.

Pours light orange with a half finger white head with pretty nice lacing. Aroma is of citrus, wheat bready, floral hops, some tropical fruits, and some faint coconut. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma. Has a medium body with a slightly watery mouthfeell and a semi bitter, medium finish. Overall, a decently tasty wheat ale that definitely has a summery vibe to it.

Drank from a pint glass, poured from a twelve ounce bottle. Nice citrusy aromas for a Wheat Ale. Pours a nice, fairly clear golden color with plenty of head. A good tasting summer brew!

On tap at the Keg Room (West 36th) somewhere in 2013. Pours a hazy yellow with a small white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of floral hops and weed/dank. Taste is a bit (too) sweet and offers some bananas, pepper and caramel. Lightly bitter. Body is medium and carbonation almost through the roof. OK but certainly not memorable, I’m not even sure I was served what I asked for when I compare with ratings from the same timeframe so I will certainly give it another go sometime.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: The body has a Pale yellow color body and a hazy look. This is topped with a small white head. It fades quickly and only makes a little spoty lacing at the top of the glass. Smell: It has a lot of grassy and floral hops with bready wheat maltiness backing it up. Tast / palate: The flavor starts off with a light bready almost sourdough like maltiness up front and then it brings solid floral and grassy hops with some light unripe pineapple notes. The finish has a good soild hop bitterness. Carbonation and the feel is very lively.
