Commercial Description:
This beer is an American adaptation to the classic Belgian style of beer known as a Tripel. Historically Tripels were brewed to have a very light golden color, a moderate hop presence, and be around 9% alcohol. But we are not in Belgium, so I decided to crank up the hops, dry hop the beer with American Amarillo hops, and brew it to 10% ABV. This is our American Tripel, enjoy. Sensory Profile: Enjoy in a goblet or wine glass. Tropical fruit and honey are the two biggest aromas coming from this lively brew. While the hop bitterness is not as powerful as an IPA, the hop flavor melds nicely with the fruity flavors created by the imported Belgian yeast strain used. Food Pairing: This beer goes great with roasted vegetables, fish and rotisserie chicken. And it can be used as a aperitif before dinner with shrimp cocktail.

Draught at Beer Table. Slightly hazy, gold with a slight amber tint. Taste is sweet, spicy, cloves, caramel malt, yeasty breadiness, and a very distinct dry, hoppy mint. First drink of the night, passed it around, 4 out of 4 in our group all identified minty quality. It was like a mix of a particularly hoppy, golden Belgian beer with mint. Unique and delicious. Finished dry, crisp minty hop bitterness.

750 ml from JB175; after almost a year in my cellar! Nose of light apples, peppery spices, and a light funky note; clear copper with a huge off-white head; flavor is very spicy with nutmeg and pepperiness, candi sugar, fruitiness, yeast, and a tiny smidgeon of hops in the finish, but the must have mellowed after 10 months in the cellar!

Ordered from Canal’s in NJ. May have been leaking a bit through the cap as the bottle was a bit wet. No serious sign of beer loss. My first response was: NOOOOO. Another beer with a long standing ethos. All those ISOs in the trade forum. The hops make the taste heavier and more aggressive than a Belgian. And I swear I taste a bit of funk. The yeast? I don’t think this bottle is skunked because I get the overall tripel the way it should be. Very good overall.

Bottle: opened it up and the beer started rushing towards the top and almost out before I could start to fill my glass, pours a clear, golden amber with a thick frothy white head, aroma is yeasty with maybe a little honey as well, taste is sweet upfront and then very dry in the finish, has a bit of a grapefruit type taste, warms a bit as it goes down to let you know the ABV is there.

Bottle courtesy of tjthresh, via Ughsmash. Pours a clear, bright gold with a large, loose, fluffy, white head that leaves patchy lace in its wake as it recedes. On the nose are: apples, faint bubble gum, light alcohol and a a touch of candy sugar. Medium-bodied with soft yet assertive carbonation, it finishes abruptly dry. The flavor features dry, yeasty apple with a clean, dry finish; a fairly straight-forward tripel and a tasty brew. Thanks for sharing this with me, Tom!

750 ml bottle generously shared by tjthresh. Pour is clear golden with a billowing white head. Visible carbonation bubbles. Head settles to a nice, rocky - big bubble with nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of bright citrus and apple hoppiness. There is also Belgian sugar yeastiness. In the very back of the nose, there is a soft biscuit maltiness. Very complex nose. Taste is big bitter sweetness in the front, fading into a grassy yeastiness. Carbonation is present and lightens the otherwise full palate. Thanks for sharing this one Tom, and thanks for sending it to KC Jason!

750 ml green champagne style bottle. No freshness date seen. Big thanks to Hophead 75 for trading with me. Loud pfftt when opened. Slight gusher. Poured out a hazy orange color, with a huge, frothy white head. Aromas are funky Belgian yeast, citrus peel, sourdough bread, some pepper. Flavors are Belgian funk, citrus, peppery hops, tropical fruit. Medium mouthfeel, decent body. Finishes kind of dry and hoppy. Decent beer overall.

Bottle from Ughsmash. Pours nearly brilliant gold with lots of little bubbles. Eggshell white head with a bunch of lace. Delicate fruity bubblegum aromas with light honey, and pepper. Tongue scrubbing hop flavor with some sugary sweetness left behind. Medium/full body. Hight carbonation. Dry finish. Really nice beer.
