COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is an American adaptation to the classic Belgian style of beer known as a Tripel. Historically Tripels were brewed to have a very light golden color, a moderate hop presence, and be around 9% alcohol. But we are not in Belgium, so I decided to crank up the hops, dry hop the beer with American Amarillo hops, and brew it to 10% ABV. This is our American Tripel, enjoy. Sensory Profile: Enjoy in a goblet or wine glass. Tropical fruit and honey are the two biggest aromas coming from this lively brew. While the hop bitterness is not as powerful as an IPA, the hop flavor melds nicely with the fruity flavors created by the imported Belgian yeast strain used. Food Pairing: This beer goes great with roasted vegetables, fish and rotisserie chicken. And it can be used as a aperitif before dinner with shrimp cocktail.

Pours a hazy darker golden color with medium white head. Smells of some floral citrus hops backed by an interesting spice smell. The taste is pretty hoppy with a big alcohol presence. Interesting for a tripel. Nice cinnamon and caramel flavors round out the palate. Big carbonation in the beer, which i think needed to be toned down a little, but overall pretty nice.

Thanks go to puzzl for providing and jjpm74 for sharing this beer. Poured a hazy golden with a fizzy/creamy white head. Aroma is surprisingly strong piney hops, some spiciness. Flavor is strong hops, very grassy and very dry, with some belgian spiciness, leading to a bone-dry finish from both the hops and the alcohol. Thin, fizzy body. A nice example of a hoppy tripel.

750 ml bottle. Pours a cloudy viscose color with a medium foamy white head. Aroma of faint lemon honey, fresh yeast and dough bread. Taste is carbonated lemon honey flavor with a slight spicy undertone and fresh yeast presence. A slight candy tropical fruit aftertaste. Enjoyable to say the least.

Thanks MrBendo for the bottle and served in my trusty Duval snifter: Pours to a illuminating golden hue topped by a massive white foamy head and left excellent lace upon the glassware. The aroma has than new hybrid car smell...wait I mean the new hybrid Trippel smell of aggressive Amarillo hops and sweet bready malt with a dash of cane sugar and a yeasty basement.

Nicely done and mouth watering flavor profile too with all the wanted characteristics of grassy and lightly citric resiny hops inner playing with heavy handed sweet malt and sugar. A final smash of Belgium yeast allows this brew to complete the deal. Still a touch young as the moderate alcohol bite and phenols will attest. I dig this and it is the equal to all American attempts at the hybrid genre (still not Houblon Dobbelen but what is?)

Bottle from puzzl drunk 5/3. Hazy yellow with fluffy of white head. Yeasty, fruity, amarillo hop aroma.Has a sweet, dry belgian candy taste with hops coming in at the end. Prickly carbonation. Massive lacing all over glass. Very Good brew.

Second batch with the new label. Pours a very lively hazy golden deep straw color with an immense tight white head with awesome retention and great lacing. Aroma is a bit of amarillo- but mixes with the belgian yeast to become more grassy and doughy- hints of tropical fruits, light apple, light on the esters, and lots of vanilla-like phenolics as well. Lightly sweet flavor doughy yeasty flavor, with some wheat hints, citrus notes, phenolic with lots of herbal and floral hop notes- good clean bitterness and no apparent alcohol character. Smooth palate and easy drinking. This is a great american hopped tripel similar to Houblon Choufe. Destroys Hugh Malone.

The first aroma is a strong citrus scent similiar to grapefruit. It pours dark gold with a full head. The taste is close to that of a savignon blanc. A nice beer, very unique and different than your normal triple.

I sampled this beer at the Lazy Boy Saloon and I enjoyed it so much that I stopped sampling other beers and started to order pints of the Xtra Gold. I would recommend this beer to people who enjoy Stella Artois

Huge, very dense & fine, just yellow tinted head, very stable and fed by fine bubbling from darker golden beer. Exploding nose of speculoos (distance), and hops (closeby); dry hopbales, but not necessarily C-hops; dry alcohol as in aftershave; really lupulin nose and slightly peppery, as well as mandarine peel. Taste: aha - here agian the speculoos with faintly sweet spices, still a lot of hops, quite dry. Ends greenery-like, very hoppy, fresh hops. There is malt body, but it is not preponderant. Medium to well bodied, better than most tripels, even when the attenuation is properly high. Very good beer, American Tripel indeed. Thanks Brian! Great!
