Commercial Description:
This beer is an American adaptation to the classic Belgian style of beer known as a Tripel. Historically Tripels were brewed to have a very light golden color, a moderate hop presence, and be around 9% alcohol. But we are not in Belgium, so I decided to crank up the hops, dry hop the beer with American Amarillo hops, and brew it to 10% ABV. This is our American Tripel, enjoy. Sensory Profile: Enjoy in a goblet or wine glass. Tropical fruit and honey are the two biggest aromas coming from this lively brew. While the hop bitterness is not as powerful as an IPA, the hop flavor melds nicely with the fruity flavors created by the imported Belgian yeast strain used. Food Pairing: This beer goes great with roasted vegetables, fish and rotisserie chicken. And it can be used as a aperitif before dinner with shrimp cocktail.

On tap at Rattle n Hum. Poured a slightly hazy golden colour with a thick but quickly disappearing white head. Aroma of pine, cloves, citrus, floral hops, and honey. Taste is similar to the aroma.

Bottle shared by shegadeyo. Poured clear amber color with an average frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Complex spicy citrus and yeasty aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium citrus balanced flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate to long duration with a small alcohol bite. This is a refreshing good beer.

On tap at Deep Ellum. Body was a dark copper hue with a foamy white head. There is a subtle sweet honey aroma, like you get off a fresh baked loaf of bread with honey in it. The flavor has a very subdued soft hop front that is more citrus peel and grapefruit than pine. The back end is full of whole grains, caramel malts and wheat with a sweet honey essence finish. This tastes like a really good tripel that was aged for a few years and then dry hopped, if that’s even possible. I am blown away.

Semi-transparent, golden with a copper tint and very thing, white, quickly dissapating head. Well balanced, fruity, floral and citrus aroma, with a flavor to match. Sweet, but not cloying. A hit of pine. A bit watery mouth feel, tight bubbles, nice carbonation. Too sweet? Tastes great, easy to drink, and is so drinkable that it definitely could be a session beer...although it would be a VERY short session because of the alcohol, that’s very well hidden, by the way.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma of sweet fruits, melon rind, and yeast. Classic abbey tripel aroma. Flavor is a bit more citrusy and finishes dry. Slight bitterness from the hops. Light and pleasant. 7/4/8/4/15 (3.8/5)

Bottle. Aroma of clove, lemon, orange, lemongrass, alcohol, raspberry, dough, cookie dough, yogurt. Flavor sweet and bready with tropical and red fruits, a good deal of warming alcohol. Really nice fruitiness and spiciness seemingly both from hops and yeast, just a bit too much alcohol build up for me as the glass goes down to keep it from being stellar, but still very good.

750 ml in Westmalle glass. Gold with lasting head and lace. Sweet and citrus lemon danish pastry aroma. Sweet fruity marshmallow peach melon with spicy fresh hop floral finish. I just love Amarillo for dry hopping. This is almost as good as Chouffe Houblon. Friggin delicious.

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a very thin white head. Aroma of pure honey, tucked in with yeast, pomme fruits and a bit of wheat. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong hoppy flavour up front with honey notes, a bit of pepper and a good yeastie flavour. Aftertaste shows more complexity with notes of flowers and spices coming through as well. Overall, a great beer - definitely worth trying if you can find it! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York.
