COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is an American adaptation to the classic Belgian style of beer known as a Tripel. Historically Tripels were brewed to have a very light golden color, a moderate hop presence, and be around 9% alcohol. But we are not in Belgium, so I decided to crank up the hops, dry hop the beer with American Amarillo hops, and brew it to 10% ABV. This is our American Tripel, enjoy. Sensory Profile: Enjoy in a goblet or wine glass. Tropical fruit and honey are the two biggest aromas coming from this lively brew. While the hop bitterness is not as powerful as an IPA, the hop flavor melds nicely with the fruity flavors created by the imported Belgian yeast strain used. Food Pairing: This beer goes great with roasted vegetables, fish and rotisserie chicken. And it can be used as a aperitif before dinner with shrimp cocktail.

On tap at Rattle n Hum. Poured a slightly hazy golden colour with a thick but quickly disappearing white head. Aroma of pine, cloves, citrus, floral hops, and honey. Taste is similar to the aroma.

Bottle; Pour is murky straw yellow ("amber"... not quite) with a fine bubbled white head..... Unfortunately this one was a gusher - 2 in 2 days - fantastic. This one does retain well ... with some modest lacing in this glass. The nose is a modest Belgian yeast strain, some grass, and tropical fruit. The flavor profile is what is more impressive here - The American hops shine through here quite nicely - with some more sweet bread, grass, pineapple..there is some Belgian yeast here - but you can tell this is an American beer with a Belgian slant; not vice versa. Anyway - I’m very happy with this one

In bottle, thanks Craig! This is absolutely my thing. In bottle. Pours a light golden colour and a thin white head. Aroma is nice and hoppy with pine and pineapple notes combined with a lovely Belgian tripel yeast character, lemon and white pepper. Flavour is quite tart with a sauvignon blanc vinous quality, gooseberries, lemon, peach, caramel and a dry finish. Moderate carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. I love this beer! Alcohol is present and warming.

750 ml bottle poured a hazy gold with a lasting creamy white head. Aromas of straw, yeast, pear, pineapple, grassiness and citrus. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, yeast, pear, earthiness and citrus with a smooth dry lingering earthy’fruity finish.

750 ml bottle into chalice, no bottle date. Violent gusher upon opening, but I did not lose very much of the beer. Pours hazy golden straw color with a nice fluffy 2 finger off white head with fantastic retention and reduces to a thick cap that lasts. Some decent lacing clings to the glass, with plenty of carbonation streaming up. Aromas of huge lemon zest, clove, orange zest, pear, pepper, grass, light biscuit, and yeast spices. Damn nice big citrus forward aromas. Taste of big lemon zest, pear, pineapple, apricot, orange, pepper, clove, grass, biscuit, tart grain, and spicy yeast. Lingering notes of citrus, pepper, pear, yeast spices, tart grain, and clove on the finish for a while. Medium-high carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a fairly creamy and slightly slick mouthfeel that drinks pretty easily for being 10%. Alcohol is incredibly well hidden; with hardly any warming on the finish noticed. Overall this is definitely an excellent Tripel; with big fruitiness and nice flavor balance.

Cellared for over a year. Yeasty nose, glowing gold under white head and lacing. Palate was sour then hops. A great example of Belgian-inspired brewing in New York.

(Rating #3907)
