Poured from the bottle into a glass while in Rio de Janeiro. The beer had a rich dark brown/black color with a bubbly and creamy dark tan head that had good cling but modest retention. The beer had a malty aroma of chocolate and coffee, with a mixture of earthy and grainy hops. Its taste was sweet with the malty presence of chocolate and coffee, and had a subtle hop bitterness as well. It had a creamy, smooth, light mouthfeel with slightly below average carbonation.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Sevenlee (537) - Central Coast, NSW, AUSTRALIA - JAN 12, 2011
Totally black with a nice lasting brown head that has nice lacing. Strong toasted malty aroma with scent of coffee. Taste is very sweet, malty with basically no bitterness. Medium to full bodied. Different but follows the Brazilian trend of sweet stouts and lacks complexity you expect from a stout.

Can (BB 06/2010)@Jyväskylä session, ty Miksu.
Dark brown color, steady brown head. Caramelly, toasted and milky nose with some coffee and grass. Quite sweet, caramelly, some coffee, cardboard, some grainy notes. Too sweet and simple.

For me, Caracu is one of the best beeers of Brazil. It´s a stout but not so bitter as Guiness. Dark color, some taste of coffee. it´s one of most tradicional brazilians beer. "For those who don’t drink honey, but instead chew bees"

Bottle sampled at a The LoSBD meeting, thanks to dm9831: This poured a murky brown body, clear mahogany around the edges, with a skinny tan head. It had an aroma of bittersweet chocolate, dark, burnt malt, and an earthy bitterness. Some cola flavoring was added to the taste. The finish had a dry, coffee bitterness. Not bad.

very deep dark brown, fluffy tan, quickly disappearing head, nice lace. coffee, chocolate and caramel nose. flavor of roasty malt, coffee, chocolate, caramel, sweet malt. medium body, oily mouth feel, coffee bitterness in the finish. a nice change of pace from the light lagers i have been drinking recently. i bought a couple bottles of this at the super mercado down the block from the Tryp Hotel, Cambui.
