Black beer, strong and nutritive, with a high body flavor. It has a toasted malt aroma, accentuated bitterness content and medium alcoholic content. Because it is not filtered, it contains yeast and, therefore, it is a great food complement. Ingredients - potable treated water, toasted malted barley, non-malted cereals, carbohydrates, hops, caramel dye

Poured dark brown with a small, light brown head. Toasted malts and some chocolate aroma. A little cloying and some bitterness. It is not well made, but the kind of cheap, Latin American dark I kind of like.

Rated base on notes taken 18 Feb 2012 -- Brought back from Rio by my dad. Sweet, light bodied, bubbly mouth-feel. I like it.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2014 355ml bottle served in my favorite chalice. Reviewing this beer is pure "nostalgia". It was my granpa’s favorite one. So, it brings me some good memories of my early life in Brazil. :) Anyway, that’s the first time that I review it after having a better beer background. A: Pours dark brown to black color (with some particles in the bottom) and medium carbonation (with a 1 to 2 fingers beige head). Low retention and some lacings left S: Roasted malt, caramel and coffee. Some yeasts too T: Roasted malts, toffee and some coffee background. Sweet upfront. Mild roasted bitterness. Light sweet end. A bit too sweet, in fact M: Medium to body, bit creamy and molasses. Mild roasted bitter aftertaste O: Good drinkability, compromised by its exaggerated sweetness. Besides that, an authentic Foreign Stout [ BA Review @ 12/23/2009 ]

Belo creme acastanhado e bem formado. Com o tempo sobra apenas um creme fino nas bordas e no centro do copo. Líquido bem opaco, marrom forte e escuro. Tanto o creme quanto a aparência do líquido bem dentro do estilo. O aroma é bem forte. Possível de ser sentido a distância. Muito forte o caramelo e o malte. Doce. Um pouco de canela. Aroma rico. Dá para sentir por um bom tempo. Muito boa a torrefação. O caramelo só é sentido no fim. O álcool se faz presente e dá força a mistura. Retrogosto saboroso. Outra cerveja que me surpreendeu. Estando bom o preço, fará parte do meu carrinho de compras.

A deep dark stout with a thick frothy collapsing brown head. In aroma, sweet caramel chocolate with dark fruits, molasses, sweet and cloying, but not offensive. In mouth, sweet nutty caramel chocolate malt with light grassy hops, molasses, light licorice, actually not bad but too sweet. Can from Extra supermarket in Brasilia.

33 cl can from supermarket in Bela Horizonte. Pitch black color, some offwhite foam. Aromas of malt, light coffee, dried fruits . Medium/light body & medium complexity . Quite sweet- too much for my taste, not much bitterness. Ok beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Canned 350ml. -straight from the can while driving to Jesus in Rio de Janeiro. After Rio saw this beer only in Natal and Porto de Galinas. Light roasted malt, caramel and notes of chocolate with touch of metal and sugar in the finish. Stout from the can...no thanks...

Bottle. Dark brown, average tan head. Chocolatey sweetness, mildly roasty, silky mouthfeel. Not bad for a macro.

12 ounce bottle purchased in Natal, Brazil. The aroma is chocolate and licorice, with some minerals. Light metal. Opaque black body with a small, light brown head present. Starts with a sweet, chocolate and cocoa-powder flavor. There is a bit of a weird maltiness in the middle with almost some huskiness and wheat. Finishes with a little more sweetness. Easy-drinking.

35 cl can. Pours dark brown to black, decent brown head. Roasted nose. Aroma of dark malts with sweet chocolate, brown sugar, some fruityness, banana maybe, no hops. Taste sweetish (accentuated bitterness? where?). Weak but smooth with something dusty, soft carbonation, light body, finish is not too sticky. Above average for the local standards .

Bottled, 0.355l. Clear black color with small, fully diminishing brown head. Aroma of heavy roasted malt, strong coffee, dark chocolate, caramel and light herbal hops. Taste starts with heavy sweet chocolate, follows with light roasted malt, but I totally miss hops. Medium body, creamy texture and soft carbonation in palate. Not bad, but seems to be artificial and way too sweet...
