3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Live rating of a 330 ml bottle served cold in a shaker at home. Purchased at TESCO Gateshead purely for the purpose of ticking Radler/Shandy on my stats. Bright pink, no head, highly carbonated. Sweet herbal aroma. There was a flavour I recognised immediately, but struggled to place at first - it’s Beechams Powders (old-school cold/flu remedy). I’m also getting some redcurrant and rhubarb. I imagine this would be quite refreshing on a hot afternoon in the Caribbean, but I’m not sure what it has to do with beer!

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Appearance: Artificial red colour, certified it seems. Clear. Flat.
Aroma: Some fruit/berry. Very sweet and sticky.
Taste: Very sweet, really very sweet. Fruit, which must be the artificial sorrel flavour they have generously added. No beer flavour. This is not an effing beer.
Bought: Sainsbury’s, 330 ml, £?.??

Fluorescent red body with zero head. Like a fruit punch. Super sweet, sugary cherries. Artificial and cloying.

1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
UPDATED: APR 21, 2015 Right, lets get this straight. I am drinking this because I will then become the top rater of beers from Trinidad and Tobago (14th Mar 2015). 330ml clear bottle from a local TESCO store. Poured into a ’Leffe’ chalice at home during a ’random tasting evening’ with myself. Pink body, with a lighter pink wisp and collar, soon to be half a collar. Is this a joke? Sickly, sweet and just horrendous really. The Sorrel ’substitute’ obviously adds to the colour and the taste, a sweet Strawberry flavour within the sickly mess is detectable and Sorrel is supposed to have a Strawberry flavour I believe. Anyway, a lesser man would have drain poured this: but I drank the lot. Wensleydale and Cranberry Cheese helped to ensure it all went down my throat. How to score this? I knew what I was getting, the bottles clear and you can obviously see the liquid inside: I will not be unkind, but the brew is in fact ’shitty’.

1.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
330ml bottle from Tesco - Starting off, it is red. Look at the picture, didn’t expect anything more. Close your eyes and the aroma is like a piece of Big Red gum, spicy cinnamon and artificial fruitiness. The taste is almost medicinal, again like a Big Red but not so burning, and a lot sweeter too. As far as beer goes, this is awful. Rate it as a soft drink... and it’s awful. Not for me.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 2/20
330ml bottle found in a caribbean shop at Shepheard’s Bush Market, London. Fruity and very sweet beginning. Only artificial lemonade there, nothing more. Very sweet, sticky, artificial...
Rather a lemonade than a beer...

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Atlanta, Ga - Total Wine - Perimeter. Pours a fruit punch pinkish red, quickly fading bubbly white head. Aroma has a nutty and essence, not unenjoyable. Flavor is somewhat candy-like with a nutty essence, some light cinnamon-like spice. Mouthfeel is artificial and thin. Now I know what sorrel is. Interesting to say the least.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
1/4/14. 12oz bottle from Publix. Just couldn’t resist awful ticks today, I guess. I don’t even know what sorrel is. A quick Google and I guess it’s some sort of plant similar to hibiscus? In the Caribbean at least? Oh well, here goes. Hilarious fake red color with an even funnier frothy pink head that goes away instantly. Gross. Whoa. This smells exactly like bubblegum, but a little spicier, it’s calling to mind those little individually wrapped white dusted bubblegum chunks you could get for a penny or a nickel as a kid, Dubble Bubble and the like. The flavor is strikingly similar as well, but more sweet and tea-like. Gross and 1.2? Make this my 2nd drainpour of the night. Nasty.
