This is quite plainly a mediocre beer. I had it in both of its incarnations as Black Label in a 12 ounce and Carling in a pint. Tastes like watery beer, but goes down easy. Low on alcohol and taste. Basically your standard pale lager, but still better than Bud.

An OK tasting lager, lacks the boldness of its competitor carlsberg, but still goes down well with a football game.

Carling Black Label 12 oz can Recent canning, washed down 10/06 Fast pour in my mouth straight out of the can (save for a 1 oz sample in a shot glass for reviewing) Pours mildly dark yellow with a quickly diminishing fizzy white head. Smelt of moderate corn and white bread. Taste was upfront moderate sweet cookie with light bitterness followed by a light flowery sweetness and light bitter grain. Mouthfeel was light, watery, and overly fizzy. Overall, a good session beer. There is some taste here, at least.

Tap. Pours corn yellow with a little creamy head. Weak aroma of malts and a citric acidity. Taste is mild as well, slightly dry mouthfeel. A touch of bitterness at the end, but quite watery and sour.

Poured from the can (as part of a blind lager tast test - probably my worst drinking night ever). Pale and fizzy, with a frothy white head. Metallic and skunkish aroma. Very fizzy with little flavour and a dry metallic residue left in the mouth.. (For the record, and not surprisingly, I got only 1/6).

pint at a Coventry Match: Abolute Shite! I wish people would stop drinking beers like this. First of all though I guess my beer wasn’t cold enough. Which means that I actually had to taste the awfulness of this beer. very light colored. There is taste but it is nasty. Corn, gasoline, tons of chemicals. Aroma is sick and of corn. Actually was even hard to finish. very thin and watery. Stay away from this stuff
