TBone (6675), Pori, Finland Jul 29, 2006 Draught.
Golden color, small white head. Papery malty aroma. Normal malty bulk lager (with nonexistent hops) flavor plus harsh herbal twist. Harsh aftertaste. Bad and industrial. CanadaCam (109), Canada Jul 28, 2006 At one time this was the most popular beer on Earth, if you can imagine. While it’s still the Number 1 selling beer in the U.K., it has been reduced to the bargain bin in it’s Canadian homeland.
Slighty sweet with a tad of corn taste. Like Molson Canadian, it ranks in the Best of the Worst category, but nothing special.
Still, it gets a 2.3 in my book for nostalgic purposes if nothing else. Nejhleader (924), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 26, 2006 Had this over in London, seemed like it would be their equivalant of budwieser or something like that, anyway, wasn’t all the great, slightly better then the average pale lager crap. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jul 22, 2006 Orange body with a white head. Grain aroma and taste with a bit of apples. Bitter ending. SuIIy (1406), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA Jul 9, 2006 12oz can from ClarkVV. Pours a clear yellow color with a white fizzy head. Head receedes to a filmy white coating. Nose is corn syrup and sugar. Palate is thin and fizzy, watery. Flavor is corn syrup and grass. There is a decent crispness and refreshing feeling. mj (4975), Colorado, USA Jun 14, 2006 Can. This is what all my friends were drinking in Shepperton when I visited. Had to log a rating of this pale, flavorless, carbonated water... flat tasting, boring in every respect. Just barely drinkable due to almost total lack of flavor. eaglefan538 (2355), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Jun 9, 2006 For swill, this was a bit of a surprise. Straight from the can, so I can’t give it much of a boost on appearance, although it appeared pretty pale. Aroma was malty and somewhat corn-like, but not overly so. Flavor was somewhat sweet with light adjuncts thrown in there, but really drinkable... was expecting to want to ditch it before finishing, but I could drink this more often. Sure beats the Busch, Bud, Miller, Coors selections out there. My can said it was Canadian (around since like 1840 I think it said) but brewed in the US (Heileman). Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jun 7, 2006 It doesnt get much worse than this. Pale straw gold lifeless body, no head. Aroma is bland, but has hints of metal and stale malts. Offensive flavor of dms, stale cardboard malts and astringent finish. I hope I never have to taste this again.
