Corn-like "chicken fodder" notes with only a weak bitterness. Very unspectacular. 250802 benderunit22 (3), Brisbane, Australia does not count | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 9, 2005 A very inoffensive beer
and one that is almost perfect for my intended purpose of camping. It’s cheap and has a nice
clean taste with just a bit of hops, nothing much, but still pleasant. Also one of the palest yellow beers I’ve
seen and has no aroma. Still, to me, this is what a cheap beer should be.

| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Oct 17, 2005 This is now being brewed in Australia under licence by Independent Breweries. Haven’t tasted the UK version for at least a decade, so I can’t compare, but the best thing about it was the ad campaigns. The canned Australian version looked very pale in the glass but poured with a solid plug of foam. Fair head retention. The aroma is subdued but shows a mineral note, lemony hops and wet dog. Hint of bubblegum. On the tongue it has a mild lemony bite but suffers from ’grabby’ burp-inducing carbonation. Very Bud-like and ’clean’ in the US soda-like macro tradition. From memory, the UK version has/had more hop bitterness than this. Light hoppy and malty aroma. Flavour is light sweet and grassy. Is medium bodied and has some fullness. Ends on a light bitter note. badgerben (3596), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
