Pale straw color with a wispy, slowly dissipating white head and some lace. Mild grain with hints of white grape syrup and corn syrup and touch of floral hops. I almost gave it a 3 but I really can not smell any malt in this one. Thin and spritzy. Light grainy start with a rice over corn type taste. Touch of herbal hops helps bring in the sweeter flavors. LIght acidic finish and linger. Not much here, a summer quencher perhaps, ie. lawn mower brew. Low marks in the taste more for a lack of anything, than for anything really objectionable. mutant (854), Melbourne, Australia

From a can so it mostly had an aroma of aluminium. Very slight stale hops taste, probably a blessing. Almost no aftertaste. It was on special and I thought I’d give it a rating. It's presence at the hotel bar confirmed my suspicions that during normal times of the year that lots of Brit businessmen stay here. Draft. Yellow, OK head, fizzy. Aroma? Little taste, maybe some faint hops. A tiny bit of metallic bitterness at finish. Boring Euro mass pils. Decided to destroy the rest of this by utterly overwhelming it with a Cohiba. But that's not saying much. I remember drinking this stuff in college and it was bearable if it was very, very cold. One great thing about this beer is that it is something to point to and laugh at when Brits start whining about 'awful American beer.' I've heard that this stuff is Britain's most popular beer. It is quite sad that this is what they're brewing now in Burton-on-Trent while scores of American brewers are producing pale ales that are 10 times better than anything coming out of the UK nowadays.
