"The great balance of taste and refreshment". Britain’s best selling beer since 1971.

The "Black Label" has been dropped from the name in the UK. The brand, originally Canadian, was launched multinationally in the 1960s and since then ownership fell into the hands of different breweries in different countries. The original Carling O’Keefe brewery that developed this beer was purchased by Molson in the 1980s. Coors later purchased both Molson and the UK license holders Bass. Carling Black Label is still brewed in Canada

Keg. Gassy, golden amber colour, creamy foam white head leaving some lacing and aroma of grain. Taste is malt, grain, corn, alittle fruitiness, metallic, cardboard and biscuity bitterness. Watery, light bodied, high carbonation. Bland lager.

This beer has little difference to others. Quite good for a lager. Nothing special.

After I found the smell and taste of corn that was all it tasted. It feels like Britain’s answer to Budweiser.

My least favourite beer in the world. So bad it is given out free at north east england universities. I suppose there it serves its purpose, but boring, tasteless and overly carbonated or under depending on can or tap. awful.

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2013 Tasted 23/4/2013 draught "The White Hart", Drury Lane, London. Poured a clear golden colour with a few bubbles for a head. Laced OK. Aroma a faint hint of sourish malt. Taste a very sweet caramel malt followed by virtually nothing. Light body. Soft, smooth finish. Not much going for it.

On tap at Boxmoor CC. Light golden lager, artificial white head, probably the worst of the commonly available macro lagers in the UK. Watery, tasteless, gassy, cold beery liquid.

Can on a train, due to necessity. Bad idea. Why can’t our trains sell any decent beers? Pish.

When i lived in England for a few years i could find Carling on tap at many pubs and at Football matches exc. Most people seemed to think it was an all English beer but sadly it started in Canada. You can not find it on tap in this country. Not a beer to be proud of however, it is just a mass produced beer like so many others that are sold around the world. Bland taste, often bit cheaper then other beers at pubs and can be found almost everywhere. Want to get wasted and drink mass quantity at affordable price? then sure go ahead drink Carling. Want a beer with taste? then stay away!

Served in plastic bottle at a premiership match in England. Thin. Not tasty. Not refreshing, either.
