"The great balance of taste and refreshment". Britain’s best selling beer since 1971.

The "Black Label" has been dropped from the name in the UK. The brand, originally Canadian, was launched multinationally in the 1960s and since then ownership fell into the hands of different breweries in different countries. The original Carling O’Keefe brewery that developed this beer was purchased by Molson in the 1980s. Coors later purchased both Molson and the UK license holders Bass. Carling Black Label is still brewed in Canada

One of the worst beer I have ever tasted. Yellow water with some malt and wheat. Really really bad

Bright plastic lemon shade of lager. Warm bread flour smell. Filtered clear with out much of a head but a lasting small white ring of tiny bubbles. Grassy malt taste at first taken away with a wet sugary finish. It has a quick sharp bitter quality. Easy drinking American lager, similar to other mass market session lagers.

Light malty aroma, with hints of harsh sulphur and traces of hops. The flavour is sweetish, light hoppy with an empty watery finish. At least it has got no off-flavours.

Tap. Pours crystal clear golden, large white creamy head, nice lacing. Aroma is grain and grass, flavor about the same, light sweet, light bitter. Light body. No real off tastes.

Resistant foam and lush with large bubbles. The beer is a caramel-colored drink, which has a pleasant hop aroma, lingering long in the glass. Beer light, watery and bitter, with a small, almost imperceptible acidity and discomfort of damp shades. There is little malt flavor, but it quickly disappears in the rest of the bouquet.

People say Rome wasn’t built in a day, but It’s amazing what you can accomplish after 8 cans of Carling. I had a skinfull of this stuff with my mate Jez lastnight and ended my night fingering a gypsy in Morrison’s carpark. Have that Julius Caesar!

Can. 3 months out of date, that I found. Classy, I know. And I have to say, I’ve had worse. But not by much. Actually, I found 2. And drank them both, which probably says more about me than the beer.

Aroma gave a very small essence of beer, the rest I can only describe as farty piss. Appearance showed the typical watery yellow colour of cheap lager. Taste surprised me, not too much flavour and a little tinny but refreshing and quite pleasant. Was expecting a mouthful of fizz but the carbonation was light to medium. Palate and aftertaste however was bland but in the right situation like a hot summer’s day I’d not be that fussed and this would prove an acceptable drink. Far from the nicest lager, but I could see times where I’d choose it. At the end of the day, it’s refreshing, not too fizzy and goes down fairly easily, not bad.
