"The great balance of taste and refreshment". Britain’s best selling beer since 1971.
<a href=http://www.carling.com>Website

The "Black Label" has been dropped from the name in the UK. The brand, originally Canadian, was launched multinationally in the 1960s and since then ownership fell into the hands of different breweries in different countries. The original Carling O’Keefe brewery that developed this beer was purchased by Molson in the 1980s. Coors later purchased both Molson and the UK license holders Bass. Carling Black Label is still brewed in Canada

Canned. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is harsh grass, some wheat, grains and earthyness. Flavour is dry papery, quite harsh, and has a lot of mouldd, rubber and metal when it gets warmer.

440ml can from Sainsburys. Gold colour with thick white head. As a student, I drank a fair bit of this especially in The Pilgrim pub in Liverpool. So interested in this. Aroma is fairly horrible. Some corn and cereal even some tinned salmon skin. Bit of lemon maybe. Not much in mouth and then lemony crispish finish. Bit more lemon. Not entirely awful.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2011 Can. Pale golden with a nice dense, white head leaving lacings. Malty and hoppy aroma, but quite weak. Flavor is much the same. Thin to medium body and a finish with some bitterness and metallic notes. "The taste of Britain" it says on the can. Think not! Rating: 4-3-4-3-9-2.3. 060410

Can. A clear, golden beer with a small, off-white head. Weak nose with some dms. Grains and a fruity touch as well. The flavor is pretty much the same, boring and all that. Not much going in here, but at least it’s quite clean. 110403
