COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Edition No. 4 – O’Hara’s Leann Folláin 8.1% abv
Edition no. 4 in the series is our highly acclaimed O’Hara’s Leann Folláin, winner of the Concours M Biere Pierre Celis Platinum Medal at the Mondial de la Biére September 2014 in France and Gold Medal winner at the Irish Whiskey Awards October 2014. Each swing top bottle is individually numbered and is one of only 5500 bottles produced.

To craft this beer, luxurious full bodied Leann Folláin stout was matured for 90 days in Irish whiskey barrels and conditioned in bottle to provide a gentle carbonation. During this time the dark chocolate flavours and well balanced bitterness of the stout combine with the essence of whiskey residing in the oak barrels. The finish is a sophisticated stout, rich and dark with the mild warmth of smooth Irish whiskey.

750 ml bottle. Edition No 2. Bottle #2024/3300. Courtesy of Euphemos. Dark reddish brown color with a small tan head. Cardboard, basement and attic in the aroma. Weird. The flavor is... stout and red wine. Quite thin. Surprisingly mild whiskey'ness. Dryness, cocoa and burnt... something. Where's the whiskey? Dunkler Bock? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

75 cl bottle @ Timo A. Bottle No. 2024/3300. Edition No. 2. Thanks BTR!
Pours dark brown, almost black color with a very small head. Dark toasted malts, oily feel to it, dark berries and licorice. Dark berries on the flavor, dark malts, licorice, some vinous notes, some faint dark chocolate and distant ripe fruit notes. Oily palate, mild chocolaty sweetness on the aftertaste. Some alcohol comes through, no whiskey though. Not very typical IS.

Bottle at home from drink storeGreat nose and great flavor, for 8.1% the beer is not hot and drinks easy i think that it is made in Old Bushmill’s Irish Whiskey barrels. Although it is a stout, t, vanilla, full bodied, lots carbonation, rich, toasty, long tongue numbing, dry finish. Complex stuff. [Bottle (No 3967 of 5500. 4th edition)

Bottle. Pitch black with a lasting bubbly coffee brown head. Aroma of caramel, coffee, dark chocolate, whiskey, hint of lemon. Taste is of whiskey up front and throughout, hints of coffee and dark chocolate, caramel. Flavor is dominated by the whiskey, takes away from some aspects of the Leann Folláin. Medium carbonation, oily mouthfeel.

Fairly dark brown, bubbly watery looking eggshelled head. Best feature is the nose, creamy and very pillowy caramel woodiness. Initial taste is quickly bitter, brassy and lean soy tang later on. Carbonation is fairly flat - perhaps due to the enormogushertimes, heavy on the mouthfeel however. Finishes spicy sweet with some roastiness and linger is back to lean soyiness.
