Marketed in the pub as a seasonal double stout. Pours black as a typical Irish Stout with a think nitrogen charged head. Aroma of chocolate and espresso. Flavor was full bodied, complex roasted malts, and very well balanced. Delicious!

750ml bottle pours almost black in color with some lovely red highlights when held to a light source. Aromas of light roasted malts with chocolate and earthy notes. Taste is light roasted malty bitterness with a chocolatey malt sweetness with some citrusy and earthy hop bitterness leading to a dry finish. Light to medium body with decent carbonation and a pleasantly smooth mouthfeel. A very nicely done stout that I thoroughly enjoyed.

750ml bottle - pours pitch black with nice tan head and instant lacing. Nose is roasted malts, coffee and peppermint (reminds me of a mint candy from Vichy, France), Flavor is much like the nose. taste is mainly sweet but ends on a bitter note. Flat, smooth and a dry finish. tasty for nothing to write home about.

750ml bottle. Fully roasty, coffeeish aroma, featuring almost charred, black malts, dark chocolate, butternut, marshmallow, faint black olive, earthy hop and charcoal. Solid brown-black color with a very fine head. Flavor is equally roasty, with a faint amount of dark chocolate sweetness, smoke, burnt grain, some espresso and dark toffee. Actively carbonated and extremely dry on the palate, body is medium. Exemplary version of this style.

750m bottle
Pours pitch black and completely opaque with only the slight hint of dark mahogany edges when held to a light source and a massive three finger frothy tan/coffee colored head. Excellent retention, only slowly fading into a lasting cap. Sporadic splotches of lacing left behind.
Depp, rich roasted malty aroma with hints of chocolate, coffee bean, toffee, oatmeal, hazelnut, caramel and subtle hops.
Slightly viscous medium body with a lot of roasted malt up front followed by a smooth, creamy lactic presence along with some sweet milk chocolate notes. Hints of roasted coffee bean, toffee, oatmeal, hazelnut, caramel and subtle earthy hops. Sweet with a very dry hoppy finish. Extremely quaffable.
