This stout has a robust flavour with a ful bodied and smooth mouth feel. The roast flavours lead to a dry espresso like finish. A generous addition of fuggles hops lead to a tart bitterness which mingles with the roast espresso flavours on the tongue.

When looking for a good well balanced stout, full of flavour, with hints of toast, roasted nuts and a faint hint of coffee, then this is streets ahead of any other Irish Stout. Impossible to find in Dublin however as they seem to favour something else there. Bottles can be purchased at the airport however. Tasted it first in Cape Cod, in a place called sandwich in a place called the British Pub. Carlow sell a similar beer marked though M & S, but get the draught versionif you can

Bottle from the LCBO. Pour a darker brown/black colour with a fine bubbled brownish head that disappears pretty quickly. I find the aroma sort of dusty and espresso like with a hint of roast. On the palate it is medium bodied, some toasty bitterness and fast finish. Rather forgeful but toasty brew. Meh.

Aroma of coffee and black & roasted malts. Black-brown colour with reddish hints. Tan head with decent retention. Taste like much like aroma. Sweet and roasty up front, moves through pleasantly smoky and acidic while drying out into a dusty bitter finish with a hint of sweet.
