23 July 2013, bottle. Black w/ think foamy head. Nose is big roasted malt. Nice. Med body and moderately fizzy. Having a hard time thinking if this without comparing it to Guinness. I think it is more flavorful than Guinness and has a fuller body.

500ml bottle, pours deep ruby, almost black, with a small white head that stays for a while, carbonation is low. This ale is very full bodied with a creamy texture and taste, with chocolate & roast malts making up the initial aroma, then comes a fruity blackberry tingle on the tongue which balances the malt well, the the finish is short and slightly bitter. Nice.

Big brown head that lasted. Nice chocolate aroma. Sips full bodied and dry. Finish is thin w/ a slight mop water taste. Full bodied throughout w/ a hoppy finish. Not much alc. presence. Good pub sipper, but nothing to seek out.

Pint at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pitch black with a medium white head. Roasted malt, soy, hints of smoke and some hops. Too salty for me.

I didnít realize this beer has an alias. Anyway, this is "on the list" and we havenít reviewed a beer in a while. This isnít my favorite style, but it IS better than Guinness. The only time I would order this again is if I was in Ireland ordering this on on cask. I bet this is killer room temperature.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2013 Bottle. Poured an opaque black with a medium tan head, nice lacing. The aroma is of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and coffee. Taste is dry, with chocolate, coffee, bitter-sweet flavors. Thin, almost watery, high crispy carbonation. Nice stout.

On keg at Bull & Castle, Dublin. Sold as OíHaras Irish Stout. Pours black with tan head. Plenty of roasts, coffee, liquorice and some hops. A very good keg stout.
