This stout has a robust flavour with a ful bodied and smooth mouth feel. The roast flavours lead to a dry espresso like finish. A generous addition of fuggles hops lead to a tart bitterness which mingles with the roast espresso flavours on the tongue.

Butelka 0,5 l. Aromat kawy, czekolady, słodu palonego. Barwa czarna. Piana beżowa, dość obfita, pęcherzyki drobne i średnie. Szybko opada do kożuszka, ładnie zdobi szkło. Smak lekko/umiarkowanie słodki i lekko gorzki, wyczuwalne nuty czekoladowe, kawy z mlekiem, jest także lekka kwaskowość na finiszu, który jest dość wytrawny.

Sample at Örebro Öl & Whisky 2015. Smell of coffee, chocolate and a roasted aroma. Similar taste. Nice and tasty, specially considering the ABV.

33cl bottle from Beer52.com. Deep tawny brown, almost black, with a loose beige head; aroma of roasted malts with a hint of chocolate; thin milky body with a sharp bitterness from the roast and the hops; then some milky coffee; before a dry finish with lingering roasted grains ans some warmth. A pleasant stout.

Noire d’encre.Reflets légers rouges.Consistance fluide, mousse beige clair collante acqueuse.

Say what you will about popular Irish brews, but one thing never fails to impress me. How is it they can cram so much flavor and even a fair amount of complexity into beers with such a low ABV? Like a lot of the major Irish Stouts, O’Hara’s pours black with a lovely tan head. Aroma has some soy sauce and smoke along with the usual appearances from cocoa and coffee. Flavor reveals some of that smoke, along with bold, rich coffee flavors and subtle chocolate. I’ve been on the lookout for this one, but it still surpassed my expectations. Thanks again, Ireland.
