This stout has a robust flavour with a ful bodied and smooth mouth feel. The roast flavours lead to a dry espresso like finish. A generous addition of fuggles hops lead to a tart bitterness which mingles with the roast espresso flavours on the tongue.

Bottle. Pours dark brown - black with a red edge. Light chocolate, light coffee, malty aroma. Light to medium body, medium carbonation. It’s grassy, with toffee, light coffee, dark chocolate... nice balance, easy drinking. Decent.

Sich kräftig röstig mit stimmen von Kaffee, allem Holz, Raucharomen und Tabak. Geschmack ebenfalls kräftig und würzig mit einer langanhaltenden Bittere und einem leicht säuerlichen Abgang.

Medium bodied dark beer. Not so alcoholic, no hoppy taste just roasted malt, some spicy, coffee and cocholate. Nice stout!

Corps moyen. Carbonation faible a moyenne. C’est bien!

0.5 l bottle. Dark bitter aroma of coffee. Bitter taste lasts for quite some time. Enjoyable.

Bottle. Dark brown to black body, with a big, frothy, tan head. Aroma of roast, dark chocolate, nuts, earth, some dried fruits. Taste is a bit thin, with about the same aromas. Mouthfeel is light, slick, with almost no carbonation and it finishes roasty/bitter. Not bad, sessionable. The nose is really nice, but the taste and especially the mouthfeel are too thin for my liking, but overall quite good for the low ABV.

Pint on-tap at The Ha’Penny Bridge Inn, Dublin (€6.00):
Medium roasted malts initially, some darker notes & hints of chocolate with some sweetness. I got the odd creamy, almost milk chocolate like smells & there was and earthy bitterness towards the end as well.
Dark & opaque, almost black with red tinges & topped with a creamy, beige, 2cm head with excellent retention and a layer of creamy lacing on the sides.
Light malts & roasted with earthy flavours & some coffee. I got some sweetness and chocolate with touches of bitterness & creamy flavours. It was lighter than expected but it went down well and was quite enjoyable.
Silky smooth, it went down incredibly easily. Medium body which was lighter than I would have expected and the carbonation levels were soft before a dry & light bitterness rounded things off.

A pretty good beer & definitely a nice alternative to Guinness. The beer was a little lighter than you might expect but it was full of flavours and very easy going down; definitely a beer worth getting your hands on.

0.5 bottle. Black color and a medium, creamy, brownish head of mediocre retention although it leaves some lacing. Aroma of roasted dark malts, delicate notes of wood, sea, and licorice. Taste is sweet and malty with bitter dashes here and there - saltier, smokier, and more definite than the aroma. Medium body, creamy texture, and soft carbonation. Finish, apart from the already-mentioned maltiness, has sour tones which, although not expected, do not spoil the beer. Overall the brew is alright, it does not excel but neither does it disappoint; quite drinkable.

0,5 lt, bottle @ supermarket. Buona scura irlandese con un retrogusto amarognolo sopportabile e ad un ottimo prezzo.
