3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
A dark black beer, and I can see red around the edges, with a thin creamy looking tan colored head (which lasts for a while). Smells chocolatey and sweet. Tastes very roasty, with some sweetness and some milky flavours as well. Its a bit watery and doesnt leave much of an aftertaste.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Described as a "luxorious" on the bottle, and it certainly fits the billing. Luxurious black body w. a dollop of chocolate cream on top. Deep roast notes hang in the air as an amazing chocolate aroma takes center statge. Moderate body that is not as full as the aroma would intimate. Light roast flavor. A palatable and enjoyable stout.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice dark body with a small tan head. Great aromas of chocolate and burnt malts. Flavor had a nice bitter bite to it.

2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sad that I had to get this beer in a shipment from Denmark, but every time I went to stores here in the states that carried OHaras other beer, they never would have the stout in stock, so thanks Mads for allowing me finally stop seeking out this beer: A deep rusty brown topped by a small but lasting creamy tan head and some lace. The aroma has notes of ashy and mocha malt, freeze dried coffee, hint of bacon, cashews, and yes, it has a peaty and yeasty ester "olde world Irish" vapor.
Sadly the taste does not match the nose with a simple sweet malt and light hop and charred bitterness. Not bad but surely it is lacking any depth at all. After the 1st few tastes, you have all the info you will ever need about this beer. Some lactic tones throughout as well. The palate is a chalky and lame mess.
There are better Irish Dry Stouts out there, NONE ARE MADE in Ireland. God, that country could use a real microbrewery. I bless that upon my Irish beer brethern.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Attractive appearing beer, pouring rich black color with a nice well retained tan head. Aroma has some chocolate, but that is subjagated by some sour, bitter aromas. Harsh bitter flavor like raw, unsweetened chocolate. Doesn’t taste roasted, more like burned or something. Gotta agree with Sean, disappointing.

11.2 oz bottle: A great beer. If it wasn’t so expensive I would buy it more often. Great stout.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
This beer pours a dark brown to mahogany red color with a thin bubbly tanned head which died fairly quickly with little lacing. The aroma is woody, chocolatey in the nose with a hint of hops but at some points it literally smelled like a well-taken care of port-a-potty, and there is no such thing if you’re trying to think too hard about that..... The flavor is extremely bitter and provides absolutely zero balance to the beer. Cardboardy malt finish mixed with piney hoppy mid-sip. Carbonation is present yet the body is paper thin. Some smoke in the finish, but overall incredibly disappointing.
