This stout has a robust flavour with a ful bodied and smooth mouth feel. The roast flavours lead to a dry espresso like finish. A generous addition of fuggles hops lead to a tart bitterness which mingles with the roast espresso flavours on the tongue.

A basic dry stout. Aroma was a little weak but could pick up some coffee. Pour was nice...a dark brown/black with a nice 2 finger tan head. Taste was very toasty. Roasted malt, coffee and a nice bitter aftertaste. Heavy carbonation which is a plus for me. Nice and dry as the style indicates. Now bear with me on this...there is a wierd beef jerky taste in there that I can’t figure out. It doesn’t take away from the beer but creeps up the sinuses and was unexpected. Nice.

500ml bottle.
Pours black as an abyss with an nice and thick foamy tan head. Fades slowly and leaves a nice coat of lacing ’round the glass. Aroma hits you with banana cream pie, caramel and chocolate malts as well as some other fruity and grainy notes below. The flavour is very nice. Coffee bitterness, dark chocolate, roasted malts and some sour banana. A little bit thin for me, but otherwise good feel and balanced carbonation. Ends Bitter and dry on a sour ground coffee taste. I like it.

Darkish pour... more along the lines of a porter, with a lasting tan head. It has a dark, malty aroma. The flavor definitely does have a malty bite to it. It was OK.

Bottled at Bishop’s Arms, Järntorget, Göteborg, Sweden. A quite ordinary Irish stout, dry with strong roasted notes of coffee. A bit thin for a stout. To be soon forgotten.

A dry stout comparable to Guinness but perhaps a little more watery. Tastes like a stout but doesn’t feel like a stout. Drinks more like a porter.

bottle bought in Dublin. licorice, smoke, raisins, malts, in the aroma. A bit too carbonated, very much like a porter. Some coffee/nuts bitterness, overall a nice sipper. Must be good on tap

From a 12 oz bottle, I could tell very little from this standard dry stout that could distinquish it from Guinness. drinkable but unexceptionable.

330 ml. bottle, short blurb and freshness date on the back label, sampled in a pint glass. Poured a dark chocolate black with frothy brown head that ever so slowly settled into a thin creamy lacing, a good deal of laced sticking. Aromas of roasted grain, coffee, wisp of vanilla and hints of cocoa. A lively, fresh smelling nose. Lusciously smooth moderate body, airy feel from the good carbonation. Milky rich malts, charcoal and roasted grain, caramel and cocoa, ending with a coffee bitterness. Light herbal leafy hops add to the mild bitterness, helping to give this stout a dry finish. An easy quaffer, I would like to try this from the tap sometime, nitro or otherwise.

Decent but not outstanding stout. A solid bitterness keeps this one interesting, and it goes down well. Far better than the O’Haras Irish Red. Had this on tap at the Tolkien House in Zagreb.
