3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark burgundy brown body with visible carbonation and a frothy, light tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, burnt figs and chestnuts, and some evident sweet caramelization. Flavor is like well-roasted dark coffee with medium acidity. Also some charry notes plus burnt fruit and squash. Fizzy, over-carbonated palate.

Draft at Montgomery Inn - Boathouse in Cincy. Poured a black color with a huge creamy cascading light brown head that was lasting with good lacing. Good roasted spice aroma. Medium to full body. Good well balanced flavor with a soft dry finish. Good above average dry stout.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice roasted nose and poured black as night. Nice rich head, all good up until the taste. The profile was there but the structure was lacking. A little watered down for my taste.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Looked great at almost black with a nice head. Aroma was licorice and roasted malt. The flavor was pleasant but hampered by being thin bodied and overcarbonated.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Mahars. Very much a guinness clone, but with more burnt character, similar to Beamish. Thinner head than I would have liked, but still had a nice thick body.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Interesting aroma of bitter, roasted malts, with a slight hint of nuttiness. Soft carbonation. The body is rather thin, but full of bitter malts and roasted coffee. The dryness pervades the body, leaving a bit of chalky feeling on my tongue. Good, but dry stouts just aren’t my favorite breed of stout.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black color with a very thin tan head. Bitter malt aroma. Definite roasted malt in the taste with some bitter coffee. A bit thin and for a stout it is not too bad.

Pours dark brown with lttle head. Smells thin of burnt coffee. Burnt coffee-chocolate taste. Good flavor, stays smooth, just a bit too thin.
