3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Guinness but better. More robust character all around. More roast, more malt, more body. Not like Extra Stout, but Guinness to the Nth. Not easy to come by, but definately enjoyable.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: AUG 21, 2006 good but not great - that’s for sure.
And now that I read the the 4.3% - ouch that stinks. Guiness is better - but just watching this beer pour and then settle is a site to behold. Appearence so perfect - It was all downhill from there.

Pours a deep black with a huge tan head of long duration. The aroma is of roasted and chocolate malt. The flavor has a mild chocolate beginning and quickly grows to finish with a moderate roastedness. The overall texture is creamy.

Draught. Opaque black with thick tan nitro head. Light roasty and milk chocolatey nose. Flavor is also chocolatey with toffee and brown sugar notes. Nitro makes for a very creamy mouth feel and smooth finish. Yum.

Bottle. Black with thick creamy head. Quite carbonated. Rich sweetish malty and roasted aroma with coffee, licorice, burnt sugar and toffee. Dryer and more roasted flavor, charcoal. Bitter and charcoal roast finish. Simple but tasty
stout with strong roastedness.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
draught. Pours black, slightly ruby in brighter lights. The use of nitro makes it very asthetically balanced. The aroma is mildly sour, bready, and musty. Sweet creaminess in the flavor, a little bit of bite comes through in the finish. There’s some apples and a bit of thin chocolate. It’s like a slightly fuller, rounder Guinness. Great session brew.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark, almost black, with a tan head that laces down the glass. The aroma is mild, with only a slight note of hops. The body is heavy, with a sharp dry hop bite. Very good.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a red black (very dark) with a light tan head of above average density and below average lifespan. The nose is faint, but pleasant, clear roast, slight floral notes, and something lightly sour like old milk, though not sweet. The palate is entirely appropriate to the style. Little bubbles dancing on the tongue, providing a decent viscosity that the beer doesn’t otherwise possess. The dry flavors in this beer really pull it all together, strong roast, brash, but not quite coffee tasting, with high acidity and very slight malt. There’s also some light british style hops filling out the roastiness. This is a really nice clean beer, that does what Guiness always fails to do in my book.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
A dark black beer, and I can see red around the edges, with a thin creamy looking tan colored head (which lasts for a while). Smells chocolatey and sweet. Tastes very roasty, with some sweetness and some milky flavours as well. Its a bit watery and doesnt leave much of an aftertaste.
