3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Heavy tan head, high carbonation, black body. Nice sweet aroma, very smooth, somewhat like milk chocolate. Bacon taste in the body, some smoked quality as well, hops are present. Bitter ending, probably from roasted malts.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Virtually opaque black, with a foamy brown head (fairly good retension).
Heavily roasted malt aroma of freshly ground coffee, dark chocolate, sweet dark fruit, spices and bitter hops.
Flavor reflects aroma, albeit somewhat dryer, with a slightly bitter cold coffee roasted aftertaste.
Moderate carbonation, medium body. A nice smooth stout.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
11 oz or so bottle. Nothing really special about this stout. Not bad, but not spectacular. A bit creamy, with a little bit of sour taste. Deffinately not worth the price I paid for it.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
(03.11.06) On tap at Firkin’s, Libertyville, IL. Blacked hued stout having a long-lived giant creamy off-white head. Faint plastic-like aroma. Medum-to-full bodied stout that starts dry with slight licorice flavor. Finishes dry with light bitterness fade. Creamy and smooth in the mouth. Very mild and practically tasteless but for the slight licorice flavor. Good drinkable dry mild stout that is best enjoyed without food as food flavors overwhelm this beer.

1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
UPDATED: JUN 29, 2006 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a large brown head. The aroma is vaguely skunky with a sour tang. The mouthfeel is rather thin for a stout. The flavor is roasted malts and a sharp bitterness. Not very good.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Beer pours a nearly opaque dark brown color with an off-white, large, grothy, mostly and quickly diminishing head. The aroma is, to put it bluntly, pretty yucky. It’s moderately malty with a note of roasted grain, sharp caramel and milk chocolate; hoppy with a trace of herbs; Miscellaneous moderately weighty notes of smoke, rotting banana peel and tin can. The flavor is moderately acidic, moderately bitter and lightly sweet with a long, moderately acidic, moderately bitter, heavily metallic-tasting finish. The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very decent Irish stout. Nice looking with a dark rocky head topping a near black brew. Creamy and roasted, with a distinctly dry and hoppy finish. Hop flavor lingers in the finish without being bitter.
