3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The head on mine didn’t last very long, and that was a bit of a dissapointment. There was also a fairly strong chalky taste to it..strange...but there was a nice unsweetened chocolate maltiness as well. The body was a little on the thin side, for me, and the roasted qualities that cna be expected with stouts were very understated here. For all the faults I found, it’s still pretty good.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Almost black, fair amount of ruby shows through. Nice light tan head and lace. Nose is roasty malt and coffee. Pure, dry roasted coffee and malt on palate. Nice body, thick, fairly rich and bitter, touch of sweetness, dryest stout I have had. A bit one dimensional but not bad.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not a half-bad Stout. It has all the qualities of a good Stout, unfortunately it fell just a little short in most areas. Nice roasted aroma with hints of coffee that wafted as I drank it. Almost black with a medium beuge head. Roasted, nutty, coffee flavoring but it was a little too carbonated and thin for my tastes.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Got a chance to try this on tap and I think it has erned couple of more points. The head was much stronger with a difinitive aroma of roasted coffee, taste was fresher and more crisp on the tastebuds.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice and black, like a stout should be. A strong coffee flavor with slight roasted grains that makes for a very nice stout. A little thin for my tastes, but the flavor was really nice.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Guinness-like appearance except that there was no cascade. Some roasted malt flavors, but I got a strong sense of a mocha coffee drink here, like drinking an iced Starbucks. Unidimensional flavor but in a good way. (on tap, Rising Sun pub, Epsom)

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Decent beer, but nothing very special -- nothing there to grab you. Medium bitterness, fairly dry finish. Something for fans of Guiness I suppose.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2007 Rerate One of my first ratings - picked this up this time in Savannah at Habersham Beverages. Black pour, khaki head, fresh lake water aroma. Good dry bitter flavor, slight roastiness. Decently thick mouthfeel. Pretty solid. Original 3.8 Nice smooth finish with a smoky-sweet aftertaste.

This beer is somewhat hard to find but I believe it’s far better than all other stouts.
