COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This stout has a robust flavour with a ful bodied and smooth mouth feel. The roast flavours lead to a dry espresso like finish. A generous addition of fuggles hops lead to a tart bitterness which mingles with the roast espresso flavours on the tongue.

When looking for a good well balanced stout, full of flavour, with hints of toast, roasted nuts and a faint hint of coffee, then this is streets ahead of any other Irish Stout. Impossible to find in Dublin however as they seem to favour something else there. Bottles can be purchased at the airport however. Tasted it first in Cape Cod, in a place called sandwich in a place called the British Pub. Carlow sell a similar beer marked though M & S, but get the draught versionif you can

Well-balanced appearance, with a huge head and lacing that last to the end of the glass. Lots of dark chocolate in the very refreshing aroma. Very clean, crisp flavor with strong hop bitterness and just the right amount of dark roasted malt. Also has strong undertones of lemon-citrus and dark caramel. More carbonated than most stouts but with a bitter version this is a refreshing change of pace on the palate.

Truly a great Irish Stout. Pours from the bottle dark brown/black that barely lets any light though, with a creamy head to top it all off. Aroma is deep and strong with hints of toasted chocolate and smoky earth. Goes down smooth with a touch of roasted coffee and a slight bitterness. Not quite the weak flavor of Guinness but less of a bite than Beamish. If only it wasn’t $10.00 a sixpack.

Had an imperial pint of this last night and must say that I might like it better than bottled Guiness (gasp!). Layers of caramelized chicory that goes on and on and an appropriate sourness. Guiness can deliver more notes, all told. but not always easy to tease them out. This one seem a most approachable entry into dry stout for first timers.

Draught @ Bull & Castle, O’neils Dublin. Really looks like a Guinness. The head is a little bigger and darker than for a guinness. Strong aroma of Cacoa. I really like it when the keg is not too old (taste totally different) but it’s a lot more constant on bottle. The score is for a good one :)

500 ml bottle. Pours a nice orange-tinted black with a persistent beige head. Smells of chocolate and coffee. Taste is very sweet chocolate, molasses, sweet moka coffee. Very light bitterness in the finish, with some sticky molasses feel and taste. Thick bodied, this reminded me of a lighter-tasting guinness, with a whole lot more body. Highly enjoyable, best Irish stout I’ve had this year.

Dire che è nera è riduttivo. Stout fenomenale. Tostata, si sente il caffè una punta di cioccolato e quel qualcosa di minerale che la renderebba la miglior amica di un nano. Buona!

Aromes dolços i torrats de xocolata i café. En boca xocolatai amarg de café lligat amb el final sec. Exemple d’estil, ben estructurada.
