Poured watery black with a bubbly tan head. Aroma of chocolate. Good smell. Some flavor of chocolate but very thin and watery. Extremely easy to drink.

Aug 20, 2008 Pours deep brown with a tan head. Light roasted aroma with caramel. Flavor is roasted, with coffee, earth, and a bit of smoke. Not bad.

Aug 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a frothy loose tan head. Has that stale ale aroma with a little lactic and caramel smell. Full bodied and a bit sweet with flavors of dark caramel malt with some light roast and cocoa notes. Satisfying bitter bite. Not bad but probably better on draught.

Aug 19, 2008 The pour was thick and creamy with a nice brown head that lasted quite a long time, the beer was black. Aroma was slightly sweet and and hints of coffee and caramel. The first sip was nice and roasty and smooth with almost no bitterness and a slight sourness. As the beer warms the bitterness begins to show through little by little until the end. There is very little hop character in this beer. An enjoyable beer as far as stouts go.

Aug 17, 2008 Dark brown colour. Pale brown fast disappearing head. Maltiness in the nose. Strong taste of raasted malts. A littlebit sour taste. Strong hoppiness in the end. Mild cafe aromas in the nose. A 0.5L bottle from local Market.

I really don’t know why I have never rated this - it’s quite readily available, and have fair ratings. But now I will.
Pours deep brown with a medium, bubbly. light-beige head. Aroma has a good chocolate note, some hazel nuts, light coffe and roasted, sweet malts. Medium carbonation, fine, dry mouthfeel. Flavour is ashy, lots of roasted malts and some coffee notes. A bit too dry, but it sure fits the style.
