This stout has a robust flavour with a ful bodied and smooth mouth feel. The roast flavours lead to a dry espresso like finish. A generous addition of fuggles hops lead to a tart bitterness which mingles with the roast espresso flavours on the tongue.

Dark, almost black, with creamy beige top. Burnt flavor and dried espresso finish is correctly written on the label. More sweetness than usual, but good stuff.

The Irish stouts always have nice creamy head, and this dry stout is no exception. Pleasant aroma of coffee and licorice. The taste is dominated by coffee, roasted malt, slightly liquorice and finally a good long hoppy bitterness. Lovely creamy mouth feel and a brashness that is perhaps a little more violent than one expects from a dry stout. But it is nice and tasty and is certainly my recommendation.

Piana dość trwała, średnio gruboziarnista. Aromat czekoladowy, palony, dość głęboki. W smaku nieco wodniste, ale to norma w przypadku dry stoutu. Palona goryczka. Nawet kremowe w odczuciu. Klasyka gatunku.

Draft at McGillins. Clearly meant as a Guinness alternative. Silky opaque black pour. Thick nitro beige head (on a settled double pour). Lace coats above the ring. Dark roasted malts. Slightly nutty. Touch of cocoa and coffee bean. Bit of peat. Very full body. Feels both fuller and drier than the current American draft version of Guinness. Missing that milky lactic tang but has enough hop bite to add a muted spicy dry finish. Good stuff.
