keg & bottled, special
A full-bodied, full-on Double IPA combining caramel and malt flavours with a well-balanced and substantial bitterness, which is topped off by a tantalising hop aroma with notes of tangerine and grapefruit. Light carbonation allows the full flavour of this beer to shine through.

Correct, but quite bland for a DIPA. The hoppy aromas are weak and confused, and the watery texture doesn’t help. Not good nor bad. Hoi-poloi...

UPDATED: APR 22, 2014 Bottle from Tesco. Pours copper with white head. Aroma is citrussy/floral. Taste is malty/caramel/fruit cake with warmth from the alcohol. Not as hoppy as I expected with "double" in the name - more like an ESB. Nevertheless - very good, very enjoyable. Hopefully, this will move from seasonal to a regular beer. (Initial Rating: 18-MAR-14) Update 22-APR-14 Tried a few (4) bottles of this - and found the degree of sweetness in the finish to be variable - some were very sweet indeed but others were better balanced.

Draught. Deep orange with a massive head. Aroma is fruity grain. Flavor is sugary sweet, malt and grain on a dull bittersweet finish.

Nose is mainly English style, caramel, even some liquor candy. White two-finger head, lively carbonation, clear amber color. The bitterness is rather herbal, not much fruit there. Very big malty backbone. This is really a full-bodied IPA. It could be more bitter for me and American hops would do better. It has got his grassy and liquory thing to it. Alcohol burning in the aftertaste.

50 cl bottle from Brewery Int. Pours clear amber with a medium off white head that leaves fast. Leaves a ok lacing. Aroma is moderate hoppy with some spicy notes. Flavour is hoppy with some tangeringe notes. Quite thin body, soft carbonation and a light bitter finish. Boring DIPA but easy and ok to drink.

Bottled 500ml. -from Magic Beer Room Zagreb. Golden coloured, medium sized off-white head, fruit drops in the nose. Sweet malty, fruity and hoppy with some herbal notes. Notes of alcohol in the finish. Rather sweet one and nearly not the best DIPA I’ve tried.

Was hoping for more because the brewer usually does better than average. This however, was not one of them. Malt forward DIPA that is still in the range of a good IPA, abv-wise. Cloying cereal malts, overly sweet. Hops are the English traditional variety that no one really likes anymore.
