A full-bodied, full-on Double IPA combining caramel and malt flavours with a well-balanced and substantial bitterness, which is topped off by a tantalising hop aroma with notes of tangerine and grapefruit. Light carbonation allows the full flavour of this beer to shine through.

Hazy gold - amber beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. Minerals. Airy malts bring caramel and cream, mild to medium sweet. Hops are mild pine into ripe orange and a little marmalade. Citric peel bitterness and a touch of tropical fruits at the end. Light finish. Hangs together well, nicely balanced and pretty drinkable. A most pleasant surprise!

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Clear deep amber colour lasting beige head. Resiny hoppy aroma. Some toffee, some resiny hop, some bitterness. Quite a good hit of alcohol. Yes it is quite sweet. I do like the hops too. Nice enough if a little too sweet.

Bottle at Mum and Dads, from Tesco Dundalk, 30/08/14. Clear golden amber with a well appointed light beige covering that dissipates then retains. Nose is caramel malt, citric sherbets, bitter orange, touch of grapefruit, woody notes. Taste comprises caramel malt, bitter orange, light grapefruit notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light hop bitterness. Drinkable, but as the APA I had from this brewer, rather pedestrian and ’entry level’ for style.
