COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

A full-bodied, full-on Double IPA combining caramel and malt flavours with a well-balanced and substantial bitterness, which is topped off by a tantalising hop aroma with notes of tangerine and grapefruit. Light carbonation allows the full flavour of this beer to shine through.

Bottled in Sheridan’s Pub, Zagreb, Croatia. Almost clear golden with white creamy firm head. Tropical fruit salad aroma, hints of mango and banana, sweet with a slight alcohol kick that lasts in your mouth. Full body, medium carbonation. It is extremely easily drinkable despite the high alcohol content. Great beer.

Kolor ciemnego złota, lekko w stronę bursztynu. Krystalicznie przejrzyste ze średnia białą pianą, która ładnie krążkuje na szkle. Aromat ładny, słodowy z odrobiną karmelu, do tego chmiele. Odrobina cytrusów i sporo ziołowych klimatów. Konkretne ciałko słodowe. Goryczka średnia i długa, z posmakiem alkoholowym.

Cask at Franciscan Well Easter Festival. Pours a clear dark gold, thin laced white head. Very fresh aroma, citrus, fresh grass, strawberry, seaside aromas, light caramel. Smells incredible really. Taste is very light caramel with a big hop bitterness. Nice dry finish, lively carbonation, medium feel body. Lovely double IPA, shame we don’t see more like it in Ireland.

Color ambrato chiaro, ottima schiuma. Profumo dolce, caramellato, non evidente il luppolo. Molto intensa al palato, il dolce del malto predomina e parmane per lungo tempo. L’amaro appare solo alla deglutizione

Bottle. Aroma strong hoppy, resiny, citrusy. Clear golden to amber colour. Stable head. Taste is initially very sweet, caramel, fruity, berries. Slowly changes into strong hoppy bitterness, incorporating resiny and citrusy flavours. Obviously high in alcohol. Sipper by all means. Very good.

UPDATED: APR 22, 2014 Bottle from Tesco. Pours copper with white head. Aroma is citrussy/floral. Taste is malty/caramel/fruit cake with warmth from the alcohol. Not as hoppy as I expected with "double" in the name - more like an ESB. Nevertheless - very good, very enjoyable. Hopefully, this will move from seasonal to a regular beer. (Initial Rating: 18-MAR-14) Update 22-APR-14 Tried a few (4) bottles of this - and found the degree of sweetness in the finish to be variable - some were very sweet indeed but others were better balanced.

Keg pint at Farrington's of Temple Bar. Hazy copper orange with lasting white head and plenty of lacing. Aroma is more muted than I expected - definitely some pine resin, herbs and citrus zest in there though. Taste comes alive a bit more with some nice resinous pine, menthol pine needles, pithy grapefruit and earthy herbs. Big caramel malt backbone. Pretty well balanced. Lingering piney bitterness. Good, if a bit rough. Not a DIPA by any means - would class it as the first legitimate Irish IPA. It does a good job, glad to finally have something local and hoppy; reminds me a bit of SN Torpedo, which can only be a positive thing.
