Keg& bottles, regular.Dry hopped for extra aroma, this pale ale has a light malt base with just the right mouthfeel to allow the hop character to predominate. Grapefruit like bitterness is full and lasting and is balanced by a zesty citrus burst of aroma from two late additions of cascade hops.

Flight done at Brewers Corner in Kilkenny. Samples healthy portion, 8 oz. Tasty notes as follows: Irish Stout: coffee, dry, tasty Irish Pale Ale: good pun on name, good flavor, nice hop balance Irish Red: strong alcohol flavor, finish is taste of pool water, hard to finish, biased against style in general, had in nitro as well which was more enjoyable Helles Lager: crisp, mild hop finish Natural Blonde: drinkable, koslh-esque? Leann Follain: Barrel aged flavor, enjoyable like most irish dry stouts Double IPA: Boozy, strong hop flavor, not up there with the good ones Widow Retro Pale Ale: conservative, middle of the road, not offensive but not great Amber Adventure: tastes similar to pale ale, hops present and noticeable, bitter, caramel malt Winter Star: spicy, winer holiday flavor

Bottle, at Patricks Pub. It’s a clear amber beer with a fingerthick off-white head. Fruity, grassy nose with a biscuity maltyness and some caramel. Some piney hops too. The flavor has a sweet caramel biscuity base and fruity, piney and grassy hops up front. Full body and a bit unpleasant carbonation. Too metallic in the end. Pleasant bitterness though. Nothing superb here, but it drinks easily and is far from bad. 110311

500 ml @ Patricks. Clear, deep golden body with a dense off-white head. Relatively light aroma of fruit, grass and hint of caramel. Flavor is mild malt, caramel, citrus fruit and just a little tine hint of oxidation. Medium body, light and refreshing flavor, not much bitter. Not very exiting, but a nice thirst-quencher.

Golden color, small off-white head. Bready, pale malty aroma, similar to Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Medium-bodied. Bready, a bit sweet, some hops in the finish. Sweetish bitter aftertaste. Certainly SNPA copy, good beer.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy near-yellow orange body with a medium creamy white head. Aroma is mild tones of pine, some grapefruit, grass and hints of buttery caramel. Nice. Taste is smooth citrusy tones with hints of grapefruit and grass. Bitter finish. Perhaps not the most exciting beer in the world, but a really good thirst quencher - complex enough to not be overly boring, straightforward enough to be a pretty good APA, in my opinion.
