Keg& bottles, regular.Dry hopped for extra aroma, this pale ale has a light malt base with just the right mouthfeel to allow the hop character to predominate. Grapefruit like bitterness is full and lasting and is balanced by a zesty citrus burst of aroma from two late additions of cascade hops.

Bottle from O’Brien’s, Ashbourne, Co Meath. Poured a slightly hazy orange colour with a mid sized white head. Aroma and flavour had some notes of citrus and grassy hop. Pretty lively carbonation. Dry bitter finish. Straightforward, but perfectly drinkable and a decent take on the style. Ireland could do with more decent beer and this is a step in the right direction.

kathouse (1627) - Nevada, USA - MAY 11, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 15, 2013 Mild amber in color with a good head of foam. This was a nice English style IPA with plenty of noble hop aroma. There was a small amount of citrus in the nose and taste. Well balanced and tasty. Good finish as well. Pleased with this. Note: the tap in Dublin was a better version than the bottled.

Bortle 0.5l. Medium white head. Color orange, light amber. Aroma citrus, flowers. In flavour sweet body, grapefruit, with some spiceness, orange. Full of hops(probably cascade). This beer is almost same as sierra nevada pa, but snpa is sweeter and balanced. Overall this is very good beer, great as summer refreshment.

500ml bottle. Pours a hazy dark copper color with a thick white creamy head with good retention. Floral and citrus hop dominate the nose along with bitter hop, hint of honey and biscuit malt. Taste is buttery with soft pine and floral bitterness and citrus showing in the finish. Medium body and carbonation, with a light dry finish.
