Appearance: Nut brown colour, low head disappears quickly.
Aroma: Dried fruits figs cherries leather and bread.
Flavour: Bready and biscuity with a goodly dose of floral hops some leather and tobacco.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied witha prickly mouthfeel.
Overall: Bready smoky and leathery and lots of complex fruit esters. Reminds me of a trappist beer without the sweetness or alcoholic zap. Easy drinking finishes dry and moreish. It would be great with cheddar and apples. tiggmtl (4310), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 22, 2008 (Moling’s Traditional Celtic Beer) Floral hops are notable over the sweet caramel malt in the straightforward and pleasant aroma. Clear, deep amber coloured body is topped by a foamy, off white head that stands well and leaves some patchwork lacing. Caramel malts up front along with some fruity esters and floral hops are balanced superbly by moderate bitterness. There’s enough flavour here for all but the most jaded of beer geeks, while you could probably still serve it to an adventurous macro drinker. Medium body with lightly prickly effervescence. I’ll forgive it for being not terribly exciting as on the whole it’s a very well-made beer that goes down well. A very pleasing surprise. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle (LCBO, Nov-07). | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 8, 2008 Bottle. Pours hazy reddish/brown with a moderate frothy white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Medium roasted sweet malty aroma. Medium body. Medium bitter flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 5, 2008 500mL bottle purchased from LCBO. Pours a dark, but clear, brown without much head. No lacing. Even with my stuffed up nose, I get the sense of a strongly malty aroma. Flavour is all malt and of decent strength. Unfortunately, that’s not really my thing. Seems a decent enough beer though for those who like the type. JohnBarleycorn (390), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Bottle. Deep red/brown appearance is a pleasure to look at. Sweet malt aroma is complemented by fruity strawberry and pomegranate, and a slight whiskey note. Palate evolves pleasantly from gritty to smooth. Flavour begins with nice, dry malt, evolves to a fruity middle and then flattens out with a watery finish. Slightly above average overall. markas101 (553), Fargo, North Dakota, USA

The aroma is sweet malts, grains, and faint hops. Flavour brings through the sweet malt and hops, adds in touches of breadiness and fruit. Well balanced, tasty. shrubber85 (2878), Wallhalben, Germany
