(Rating #1385)

Aroma is caramel, yeast and floral. Brown color with ruby hilites. Beige head that lacked retention. Medium body with fizzy carbonation. Flavor is malt, floral, almost chocolate notes. The finish is low level roasted malt and a very light bitter. Drinks very well.

500mL bottle: Poured, looks like a glass of cola with nice frothy tan head. Aroma is slightly methanic with hints of malt. Spicy, dry with lasting bitter aftertaste. Decent palate. Good beer.

500ml bottle under the name Molings Traditional Celtic Beer.
Pours a deep cherry brown with a small tan head. Aroma is pleasant. Nutty, bready, a little yeasty and sweetly floral as well a nice chocolate note. Warms up adding some smoke and red grape scents. Light bodied feel. Low carbonation. Flavour has some chocolate malts and a little bit of fruit, Ending dry and lightly chocolaty, bitter and smoky. I think this one is a little underrated. I loved it, one of my new favourites, for sure.

500ml bottle - pours deep reddish copper, clear, and white a medium off-white head. Looks good, leaving lots and lots of lace behind. Aroma is light with dark fruit, some caramel, some grain, but fairly average in terms of distinctiveness. Flavour however is muh more interesting - begins with sharp herbal hops, cherries and sweet caramel malt before slowly moving towards a roasty, smokey finish with traces of chocolate and nuts. Aftertaste is quite long as well. Good stuff. Hindered only by a slight metallic flavour at the beginning of the sip which last somewhat into the finish.

LCBO sample- Pours deep murky amber-red with some orange hues, sporting a thin tan head. Very heavily malty in the aroma. Toffee, coton candy, earthy, rye bread. Very sweet and earthy malt flavours, caramel, a touch of butterscotch, slight grassy bitterness, and a dash of treacle. Sweet, lingering malt finish. Good.

Bottle from the LCBO. Deep copper-red with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, roasted grain and grassy, tangy hops. Medium body. Well balanced flavour with sweet and nutty malt, earthy hops, and notes of yeast, cherry, and a bit of smoke in the finish. Not too bad at all.
