ogivlado (3036), Zagreb, Croatia May 23, 2007 Bottled(330ml). -Dark amber coloured, medium size beige head. I had a coid so I couldn’t detect the nose. The aroma is toasted malt and slight caramel with notes of bread and nuts. Mild sweet finish. Doggythedog (1541), Split, Croatia May 20, 2007 Bottle. Poured a nice dark red body with a medium sized beige head that went away at a medium pace. The nose is caramel in its entirety. Mild taste, subdued bready maltiness, weak weak caramel. Very low hoppy bitterness that forms a stump of an aftertaste. Watery. 10.4° and it sure shows. Somewhat pleasant, very drinkable and extremely average. Manages to be nearly as dull as the nitro wasteland that is so damn common in Irish beers. Either my tastebuds are oblivious to the subtle nuances of beers belonging to this style or this one’s close to a trainwreck. Granted, not as huge one as Kilkenny’s, but closer than it has any right to be. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA May 2, 2007 (Bottle) Pours a clear amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, bread, and grass. Flavor of mild hops, caramel, and nuts. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark May 2, 2007 Nice head and the aroma has notes of malt and a hint of yeast. The flavour has notes of roasted malt, peat smoke and a low bitterness in the finish. I would like more harmony... jgentgesdo (564), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA May 1, 2007 Pours beautiful deep brownish red with a generous tan head that lasts forever. Nose is cream, apple, pear, earth. The flavor is heavily malty, with more apple notes, bread, very little hops. Watery mouthfeel. OK I guess garthicus (1215), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 26, 2007 Pours with a slight head, disappears rather quickly, has a very slight turf smoke aroma and tastes slightly acidic, red in colour and a short finish, can’t really see myself buying it again Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA Apr 14, 2007 This was had on St. Patty’s day. Mid brown body white head. Thsi was watered down in taste, nose, body. ElJefe (553), Rochester, New York, USA Apr 7, 2007 Medium brownish-red with an off white head. Aroma of iced tea and toffee. Slighly twangy flavor, somewhat biscuity, but not much depth to this one at all. Pretty pricey for a very average brew.
