Nose is slightly roasted with caramel, sweet malts, and light cocoa. Taste is slightly bitter chocolate, caramel, lightly roasted malts, and hints of sugar and cream laden coffee. Body is medium and moderately carbonated. Light lingering roatsed bitterness. Finish is roastier, burnt caramel notes, slight hints of coffee, and sweet maltiness. Not bad. Drinkable but nothing I haven’t had before. Sigmund (2275), Hafrsfjord, Norway
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 6, 2005 500 ml bottle, as "Molings Traditional Red Ale / Traditional Celtic Beer", bought in Denmark. Chestnut colour, large cream-coloured head. Very moderate aroma of malts and caramel. Malty flavour with some toffee and a noticeable bitterness, but not very complex or remarkable. Drinkable of course, but this is a beer that probably would be a lot better if cask or bottle conditioned. It’s not, which makes it not that much better than "average". burgerlicious (308), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA

Pretty boring, I was expecting more. Grassy taste offset by some bitterness. I detected no sweet malt finish as promised. RichardGretton (3143), Leicestershire, England

Aroma is sweet malty, slightly caramely and a tad bit of almost belgian spices. Flavor is very watery with a slight fruit flavor that quickly dissapears and replaced by a mostly dry finish. Overall, a decent watery brew.
