Light sweet, malty, caramel, nice hop bitterness, medium body. Not outstanding but still a very nice ale. jerohen (1612), Bussum, Netherlands

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 24, 2003 12 oz bottle, mug. Creamy, off-white head slowly diminishes to a crown on a deep red-garnet body. Cookie, caramel malt (M); flowery hops (L); peat aroma. Moderately sweet flavor becomes a lightly sweet, lightly bitter finish. Nice peat flavor in the finish, but the flavor seems a bit watered down. Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation. The bottom line is: a little fuller and richer and this would be a rockin beer. johndoughty (2156), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England
