| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 30, 2003 Pours a good dark red to light burgundy. Small white head that is rapidly disappearing. Smells of soft ripe red fruits, some caramel. Opens up with a nice strong hops presence and a drier caramel malt and some darker candied red fruits. Ends very dry, maybe almost too dry. Light coffee maybe, more of a toffee. Moderate bitterness. Quite flavorful and good medium body, no thining at all. Carbonation leaves quickly with no problems. A red beer with a dry caramel tone, almost powdery on the palate. There is a sign of hops through a boiled vegetable flavour though bitterness does come through in the end.
