50 cL bottle. Pours golden deep hazzlenutbrown with a creamy light tan head. Spiced and caramel malty aroma. Flavour is medium dry caramel malty with a tobacco spiced hops flavour following. Goes reasonably bitter after this and into the finish. Light fruity note appearing from the hops too.

Pours a dark reddish-brown colour with a full, off white head. Scattered polka dot lacing on the glass. Aroma is pleasent, mildly malted, slight caramel and lightly roasted coffee. Taste is lighter as well, not a lot of carbonation, so retention is poor. But taste is sweet and creamy.

Pours a dark brown. Aroma of malt and caramel. Not that much to it, plain beer but decent enough. I didn’t get as much hop balance out of it as I would have liked. Okay, but I probably wouldn’t have again.

Poured dark brown with coppery highlights. The head was kind of thick with decent retention and lacing. The aroma was lots of malt and caramelly sweetness. The flavor is dominated by malt that is only barely cut with light spice and sweetness. Transitions downhill quickly into a dry, unpleasant, chalky finish.

Bottle pours clear auburn with moderate ashy tan head. Smokey, slightly sweet malty aroma. The flavor has a crisp hoppyness with smooth roasted bitterness. Pretty good.

Bottle. Deep red color with a reasonable sized head. Smell has smoke, wood and hops. Tastes about the same with tiny hints of licorice and caramel. Spices could be little stronger so it would come together better. Now it feels almost like missing its full potential, but noneless a good beer.

Bottle (in NZ), pours a clear reddish brown with a large foamy head. Good smokey malt aroma, a little bready. Full mouthfeel, toffee malt flavour with a drying finish with hints of cloves. Drinks well.
