500ml bottle. Pours a deep ruby red, with a very small rocky beige cap. Aromas are of caramalt, with some nice hops, but it’s pretty faint. The taste is huge on the caramalts, with a slight metallic edge. I really don’t pick up much hops at all in this. Mouthfeel is a little rough, but not anything too harsh. It’s a tad unbalanced. There’s a small hop bite in the finish, followed by a metallic aftertaste, and I definitely didn’t detect any of the advertised smokiness. Not totally undrinkable, but nothing spectacular. I wish I could find a truly great Irish Ale.

A tasting at Three Callers Milwaukee. A good, not great Irish. Nothing stands out yet nothing offended either. Worth a try.

Dark brown with a beige foam head. Aroma of caramel malt initially, then giving way to some citric hops and roasted barley. On tasting it has a nice and dry bitterness that lasts, complementing the earthy smoke that appears on the aftertaste. A bit of a fizz in the palate, but a nice medium body outlasts this.

Nice malty aroma. Body has hints of malt, caramel, and hops balanced quite nicely. An enjoyable red.

"Beer appears to be crystal clear brown; I did a horrid pour and ended up with five inch tall crown. The cap is slightly off white and had excellent retention that left behind some pretty nice lacing. Aroma is metallic but has a good amount of caramel, roast malt, and coffee. There is something in this aroma that I don’t like but I’m not sure what. Flavour is watery, metallic, and some cheap tasting malts. Mouth feel is very soft yuck gross. Coffee is in the finish but not enough to save this beer. Didn’t enjoy this beer at all. "
