Wonderful deep red color with thick white head. A distinct malt, fruity taste with an excellent caramel finish. Red ale is not my favorite style but this was pretty good and was much better than the far more well known Smithwick’s.

Nutty, somewhat fruity, and maybe even a little figgy. Rich, sugary sweetness. Some smoke in the finish, melded with some hop bitterness. Has some ’Red’ and ’Brown’ ale qualities. Not too bad, but tasted too sweet to have more than one or two.

Dark brown with red tint, with very little head. Fairly light bodied, nutty, with a fairly bitter, dry finish. Like Newcastle, there’s not much taste or aroma.

Poured a reddish brown color which left small white lacing on the glass. Malty flavor with notes of caramel and light smoke taste.

Nice deep dark red color. Deffinitly malty caramel taste. The coffee notes were very nice too.

A very dark amber almost brown color. The head was huge. Aroma is a sweet and malty honey. Hints of apples and some nutmeg. The taste was drier than I thought it would be. There are some dry red wine notes. Also hints of apples and cinnamon. A trace of spice. A light and fluffy mouthfeel. A decent beer.

Bottled at the Danish Beerfestival 2003: Dark amber coloured. White thin head. Hoppy and slightly sweet in the notes. Sweets, hops and cocoa notes in the flavour. Has pleasant bitterness in the end.

Pours with a deep red brown/mohagony body topped by a medium thick head with lots of lace. Slightly sweet and ruity malt aroma with good hoppy notes. Slightly bitter hoppy flavor with a touch of sweet maltiness. Medium to full bodied and slightly dry.
