From a 11.2 oz. bottle, best before date on the back label, sampled at cellar temperature in a pint glass. Poured a clear reddish amber with a foamy, bubbly topped off-white head that slowly settled into a thin creamy lacing, minimal amount of laced sticking. Aromas of toasted caramel and grains, herbal tea-like hops and a light fruitiness. Good carbonation and a crisp, dry, smooth medium-light bodied mouthfeel. Tastes of toasted grains and buttery caramel, herbal hops along with dry tea leaves, a subtle sweet fruitiness, and a dry spicy, toasted toffee malty finish. Not bad, easy drinkability, a bit refreshing on this summer day.

12 oz. bottle. Clear deep ruby, off white medium but well sustained head with nice lacing. Very appealing looking. Faint sweet malt aroma, with barely detectable hops. Medium body dominated by caramel, woody flavor. Little hops in evidence except for the dry, lightly bitter finish.

Pours a nice amber color. Not a lot of aroma, sweet malt with a hint of fruit/hops. Flavor is malty, with a touch of bitterness.

0.5 l bottle. Amber-red color with thick head. Both aroma and flavor are mainly toasty, nutty and caramelly. Finishes dry. Fairly high carbonation. This is’t my style of beer at all but this is one of the best Irish reds I have tasted.

Bottle. Pours a clear reddish amber with a lacy off-white head. Some nutty sweetness and fruit in the aroma. Light, watery body and active carbonation. The taste starts lightly sweet with nuts, bread, caramel moving to a touch of smoke and earth for a dry finish.
