daniel0017 (231), Ontario, Canada Dec 15, 2007 500mL bottle: Poured, looks like a glass of cola with nice frothy tan head. Aroma is slightly methanic with hints of malt. Spicy, dry with lasting bitter aftertaste. Decent palate. Good beer.
Miksu (1143), Jyväskylä, Finland Jul 3, 2008 0.5 l bottle. Amber-red color with thick head. Both aroma and flavor are mainly toasty, nutty and caramelly. Finishes dry. Fairly high carbonation. This is’t my style of beer at all but this is one of the best Irish reds I have tasted. SSSteve (1428), Atlanta, Georgia, USA May 23, 2008 clear dark cola color with a small off-white head. some caramel and vegetal aroma. malty with traces of nuts and caramel flavor. some faint spices(licorice?). palate is thin and watery. DandyWolfFloyd (193), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 13, 2008 Good stuff! It has a caramel malt smell and taste. It has a sweet flavor. It is a reddish color, with a white head. It’s a complex finish sweet to hopppy. It’s another fine O’Haras product. ebrowner88 (113), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Apr 5, 2008 Had on tap in Philly. Nice head that gives way to a faint lacing. Slightly malty and floral on the nose. A nice carmel and pineapple taste the ends with just the right amound of hoppy dry finish. A great session beer and one of the better in this style. DougShoemaker (2551), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 3, 2008 Fresh leafy hops nose, some caramel and candied malt, clear ruby, with a small tight toffee head, nice lace. Taste is caramel, treacle, malt, hops and a good nuttiness as well. Well balanced, light bodied, a fine toffee creaminess, dry, bitter finish. Good.
